Social Media Manager

As a Social Media Manager at Gen, you will play a key role in scaling social media strategy to relevant target regions, ensuring content resonates with diverse audiences and aligns with regional priorities. As part of a nimble and evolving global social media and content marketing team, you will also lead social media strategy and lifestyle blog content for one or more consumer brands as needed, supporting the broader portfolio of brands the team serves.

This role requires a strategic and creative thinker with a passion for storytelling across social media and content marketing on a global scale. As the regional content lead, they drive social media and lifestyle blog strategies across key markets, ensuring content resonates with local audiences while aligning with global brand priorities. They oversee the full content lifecycle—from ideation to publication—collaborating with creative vendors and internal teams to bring ideas to life. By tracking data and analyzing performance across regions, they refine content strategies and stay ahead of emerging trends. Additionally, they may lead social media and blog content for a specific brand as needed. This person is never satisfied with the status quo—always pushing for innovation, growth, and excellence in a dynamic global landscape.

Reporting to the Manager for Brand Social Media within the Global Social Media and Content Marketing team, this position works cross-functionally with global brand marketing, localization, acquisition media, partner marketing, public relations, research and product teams, and other key stakeholders across the company to ensure social media and blog content aligns with broader business objectives.

  

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the global social media channel strategy, overseeing content planning, execution, and publishing across regions.
  • Maintain a strong creative POV, developing a distinct yet cohesive brand voice across social channels.
  • Develop high-impact social content, ensuring it resonates natively on each platform. Build and manage the monthly content calendars in collaboration with cross-functional teams and agency.
  • Lead the execution of social and content strategy for brand(s), ensuring creative excellence, brand consistency, and data-driven optimization.
  • Monitor social media trends and breaking news to inform strategy and support crisis management when needed. Stay ahead of industry news, platform updates, and engagement tactics, continuously testing and iterating to enhance performance.
  • Support influencer marketing efforts with influencer lead, aligning with business priorities and campaigns.
  • Track performance metrics and audience insights to refine strategy and maximize ROI.
  • Oversee regional lifestyle blog content in collaboration with agency partners and internal editors, managing the end-to-end content lifecycle—from ideation to publication. Ensure high-quality storytelling that aligns with business priorities, engages audiences, and positions the brand as a trusted resource across key markets.

Required Skills and Abilities: 

  • BA in Communications, Marketing, Design, Social Media, or  
  • Deep knowledge of social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat).
  • Strong creative decision-making and content curation skills.
  • Global content marketing experience, including managing regional content strategies and localization for diverse markets.
  • Understanding of visual trends, digital communication, and social analytics.
  • Experience with social and project management tools (Sprout Social, JIRA,
  • related field.
  • 5+ years in social media, community building, or creative roles.
  • Asana a plus).
  • Quick-thinking, self-motivated, and able to adapt to fast-paced environments with ease.
  • Highly energetic, proactive, and a visionary thinker who can execute efficiently.
  • Proven campaign success with a strong content portfolio.
