The Principal Engineer will be essential in driving the HUB agenda, delivering measurable results for each Business Unit and deploying processes aimed at waste reduction, increased efficiency, and growth projects. This role will specifically focus on packaging optimization, cost-saving initiatives, capacity expansion, and productivity projects while ensuring the desired consumer experience is achieved.

You will provide a competitive edge by delivering technical leadership in packaging innovations and specifications. A strong engineering background is essential, as you will engage daily with manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Utilize robust project management skills to oversee multiple complex packaging and cost-saving initiatives, effectively prioritizing tasks while managing budgets, risks, and timelines.
  • Roll out manufacturing standards process specific to capability building and training for plant colleagues.
  • Execute/ High Alternative Lines Qualifications (ALQ), providing appropriate level of technical support and troubleshooting to execute trials/Commissioning Qualification and Verifications (CQV) objectives and ensure proper documentation of each activity.
  • Actively participate in technical readiness level (TRL/TRAM) reviews and discussions.
  • Data Analysis: Leverage statistical modeling and simulation tools to assess packaging processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Use your organizational awareness and clear communication skills to shape the technical direction of packaging initiatives that drive business benefits.
  • Ensure that foundational skills/capabilities keep pace with technology advancements.
  • Hands-On Role: Spend at least 75% of your time on the plant floor, focusing on practical packaging solutions.
  • Your efforts will directly influence product quality, process performance, and cost efficiency.

You are an internally recognized expert in packaging development/engineering and identify, define, and solve complex business problems by applying your broad technical and consumer knowledge and in-depth understanding of manufacturing technology related to Mondelēz products. You serve as a senior technical resource for the organization, regularly interacting with senior management.
How You Will Contribute:
In this role, you will support the development, optimization, and specification of packaging processes that enhance consumer benefits through quality improvements and cost-saving opportunities. You will develop project objectives, technical approaches, plans, deliverables, and timelines to ensure timely and budget-conscious solutions while providing regular updates to stakeholders. As a technical leader in packaging development, you will continuously advance your expertise, define and share best practices, influence the technical direction for business success, and mentor others.
