What will you do as a Medior OutSystems Developer?
 

Saying that IT is important to Vopak would be an understatement. Automation already plays an essential part in all our processes, but with the rise of the internet-of-things and data analysis our field is about to get very interesting. As DevOps you will play a defining role in the future of our company and you will help us to retain a leading position in sustainability, safety and efficiency; a position we have built up over the past 400 years. We prefer not to fall in line – we create the line; our position at the forefront of innovation is recognized in the industry.

Your business card will read Agile Software Developer or Engineer. As part of a scrum team, surrounded by other OutSystems experts, you will develop and manage applications on the OutSystems PaaS platform. You will take on the role of Developer or Engineer in a DevOps team that is responsible for designing, implementing, releasing, deploying and configuring innovative applications within the Agile DevOps teams. 
 

Incrementally and iteratively develops and test solutions in close cooperation with the product owner, the scrum master, the analyst, the project owner and the other teams.

What do we expect from you as a Medior OutSystems Developer?

• +4 years of experience with OutSystems;

• Bachelor's Degree in information technology

• Solid knowledge of software engineering principles, algorithms, and data structures;

• Knowledge of the OutSystems platform, its components, and architecture;

• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases;

• Hands-on in JavaScript and CSS customization;

• Ability to do basic data modelling and enforce proper referential integrity constraints;

• Proficiency with debugging, Unit Testing

What does your day look like?
 

Vopak is a relatively flat organisation; the atmosphere is pleasant and informal, but expect a lot of responsibility. The Product Owner will give you the directions, but you will be the owner of your projects. Our DevOps teams (In the Netherlands and Portugal) do not spend all of their time at their desks, and neither will you. Expect to work closely with users of our applications: customer services, terminal operators and even captains.
