Position Purpose:
Outside Sales Representative, responsible for selling Health Insurance products in South Carolina. Responsible for new sales, renewal of existing members, and providing service as needed. Product Portfolio for group and individual consumers include ACA Plans and Medicare for eligible consumers. Production quotas within an assigned territory.
Logistics: Blue Store - Columbia, SC
Location: This is a full-time position working (40-hours/week) with a "hybrid" blend of office and community outreach within the Greenville area. Normal business hours are 8:30am-5:30pm. It may be necessary to work occasional overtime. This role is located at: 7467 Saint Andrews Road Irmo, SC 29063.
What You Will Do:
- Promotes individual insurance products at community events, sales events and ad-hoc outings. Achieves individual sales goals through in-depth product knowledge and effective customer service. Assist in set up and closure of the Mobile Unit at events.
- Provides sales and service to customers, which includes cold calling, scheduling appointments and meeting face-to-face with individuals, small groups and communities. Through effective community outreach, identifies and promotes insurance products.
- Generates and acts upon leads, follow-up and/or outreach. Analyzes prospective customer needs and matches to appropriate company products and services. Presents and explains various recommended products, benefits, features, and alternatives to the customer.
- Provides sales/service support and backup for retail centers.
To Qualify for This Position, You Will Need:
- Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Required Work Experience: 1 year retail, sales, and/or marketing experience.
- Required Skills and Abilities: Ability to develop/maintain effective relationships with potential customers. Knowledge of marketing principles, techniques, and the marketplace. Effective presentation and customer service skills. Analytical or critical thinking skills. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Effective organizational skills. Ability to persuade, negotiate, or influence others. Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
- Required Software and Other Tools: Microsoft Office.
- Required Licenses and Certificates: Department of Insurance Licensure must be obtained within 60 days of hire in state employed. Licensure must be maintained while in job. Other licensures and certifications may be required and maintained due to assigned products.
We Prefer That You Have the Following:
- Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree
- Three years previous outside sales experience including customer service
- Active Department of Insurance License in Health, Life, and Accident
- Preferred Skills and Abilities: Previous knowledge/experience with health insurance products to include individual and group plans.
- Preferred Software and Other Tools: Working knowledge of PowerPoint or other presentation software. Proficiency with the Internet and web-based tools.
