Job Description
The Sales Engineer is responsible for sales development of the Assembly Technology Business Area in the defined territory. Sales may be direct or through channel partners. This role demands a proactive and strategic approach to expand Bosch Rexroth's market presence and ensure sustained growth for all Assembly Technology products. We seek an accomplished sales professional with a demonstrated history of nurturing strong relationships with both partners and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive strategy for each account with focus to foster strong, long-term relationships, while identifying current and future projects and broadening our current scope of business
- • Drive the specification process for Bosch Rexroth Factory Automation Technologies at OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and End User accounts in a variety of industries
- • Identify key stakeholders and decision makers at the key account level and engage accordingly. • Identify key stakeholders and decision makers at the key account level and engage accordingly.
- • Must be comfortable engaging and interacting with executive management, senior engineering, and technical personnel, as well as Procurement and Manufacturing personnel
- • Cooperate and collaborate with other team members, including our distribution partners or system integrators where applicable, to increase our present market share at these strategic accounts
- • Determine the market potential by product family for each Strategic Account
- • Prepare an annual forecast and maintain monthly or quarterly rolling forecast for assigned accounts
- • Negotiate specifications, pricing, and supplier contracts on behalf of the company
- • Leverage all resources including Application Engineering, Technical Support, Product Management and Executive Management to accelerate sales growth
- • Identify main competitors, their strengths and weaknesses, while developing a comprehensive sales growth strategy
- • Provide input to Product Management for any necessary product modifications or potential new product features and development
- • Work with Marketing to develop sales tools and promotional strategies. Attend industry tradeshows
- • Provide regular reporting using CRM for account activity, opportunities, quotations, account development, etc.
- • Provide reports, as required, in a timely fashion (i.e., expense reports, business plans, etc.).
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Revenue Tracking: Monitor incoming orders and revenue for direct business.
- Business Plan Alignment: Ensure sales strategies align with long-term market share goals.
- Forecasting : Responsible for forecasting, value-add capabilities investments, and training. Promote best practice sharing within the network.
- Customer Development: Identify and vet new customers. Facilitate growth and revenue generation at new customers.
- Sales Efforts: Conduct sales visits to customers as well as meeting with them online.
- Strategic Alignment: Align account strategies between Bosch Rexroth’s Assembly Technologies Outside Sales and Partner Sales teams.
Qualifications
- Prefer 5 years’ work experience within the automation industry in a sales or business development capacity.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or technical related field
- Strong understanding of the automation industry with firm grasp of mechanical concepts.
- Demonstrate a dedication to providing great service to customers.
- Experience in planning and implementing sales strategies.
- Experience in customer relationship management (CRM).
- Experience working with international manufacturers is a plus.
- Excellent customer service, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales and revenue targets
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Entrepreneurial driven mindset
