Join the power movement as a Network and Infrastructure Engineer
CFS will have extensive Information Technology (IT) & Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure to provide the communication and computing infrastructure for instrumentation and control (I&C) systems, including the plasma control, SCADA, PLCs, high-speed industrial computing and data acquisition systems. The infrastructure has diverse and demanding needs such as fault tolerance, fidelity, low-latency, determinism, synchronization and high-bandwidth streaming. Working with engineers across the Manufacturing teams and SPARC project you will be responsible for the architecture, implementation, commissioning and operation of the infrastructure to support their systems’ needs. This role reports to the Head of IT Infrastructure and falls within the OT infrastructure vertical.
What you'll do:
- Architect, implement, and support infrastructure and Cloud technology to support the Manufacturing initiatives and the SPARC project according to the projects schedules
- Collaborate with lead engineers and key stakeholders across the SPARC project and Manufacturing verticals to ensure all necessary networking capabilities are included in the design and implemented according to requirements
- Working with vendors, employees, and consultants to provide and meet network needs from the design stage through commissioning and operation
- Architect, implement, and support networking and infrastructure needs for PLCs, Digitizers, HMIs, SCADA Systems, Data Acquisition systems, and Timing Networks
- Managing infrastructure monitoring and security software. Enforce best practice across device profiling, access policies, etc.
- Ensure the security of the Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure by implementation of controls and measures according to the CFS cybersecurity guidelines and relevant national and international standards and regulations
- Produce engineering deliverables such as infrastructure architecture diagrams, cabling schedules, bills of materials, cabinet wiring diagrams and termination schedules, according to the CFS design process
- Produce testing, installation, commissioning, operations and maintenance procedures for the Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in enterprise infrastructure, datacenter management, computer engineering or similar
- Contribute and support the implementation of infrastructure and security technologies
- Ensure that standards, procedures and agreements are executed and followed to ensure smooth execution
- Datacenter management using VMware and other enterprise solutions
- Understanding of the Purdue Model for ICS
- Experience in managing supporting infrastructure manufacturing systems
- Knowledge of AWS Cloud, GCP or Azure preferred
Bonus points:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, Cloudformation
- Configuration management with Ansible
- High availability configurations for on-prem and cloud infrastructure
- Experience working with multiple fast moving engineering teams
- Knowledge of NIST frameworks such as 800-82 as they relate to ICS systems and networking security.
- Fortinet NSE Certifications
Essential Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Perform activities such as typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time
- Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally
- Nights and weekend work may be expected during commissioning of new systems or upgrades
- Work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics
