DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Serve as project leader in the execution of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and capital raising assignments involving Latin American companies, working closely with clients and leveraging other resources in the firm as well as outside advisors. Assume a significant role in marketing and presenting transaction opportunities to clients. Develop long-term client relationships, contribute to the group's origination effort in partnership with other coverage groups globally, and anticipate new business opportunities. Serve as the primary contact for clients to provide sector and country-specific expertise in the context of M&A and capital raising transactions. Analyze and provide value-added input to the firm's clients, including recommendations for optimal deal financial structure and negotiating strategy. Determine the impact of recommendations or deals on clients and anticipate reactions of capital markets. Produce high quality deliverables, including building and applying complex financial and valuation models, performing capital structure analysis, articulating industry and macroeconomic trends in Latin America, and providing critical advice to clients both in the region and globally with interest in Latin America. Assist clients in executing M&A and capital raising transactions, being responsible for the day-to-day evolution of transactions, and interacting with the client, counter-parties, and external advisors. Assist clients in performing due diligence by anticipating their needs, and serve as the primary point of contact with the counter-party, being able to provide insights on the counter-party's strategy. This position requires up to 50% international travel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Origination/Client Manager, Corporate Development Associate, Investment Banking Associate/Analyst, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Origination/Client Manager, Corporate Development Associate, Investment Banking Associate/Analyst, or related occupation.
Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Mergers and acquisitions (M&A); Capital raising transactions; analysis of M&A industry trends in Latin America; financial market dynamics in Latin America; discount rate adjustments; advising clients regarding M&A and capital raise strategies; valuation techniques, including DCF, multiples, and LBO; drafting marketing materials and memoranda for M&A and capital raising transactions; coordinating and executing due diligence processes; advising clients on M&A structuring considerations; developing client relationships; negotiating transaction documents; origination efforts for new business opportunities; financial reporting and financial statement analysis in Latin America; and inflation accounting.
Job Location: 383 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10179. This position requires up to 50% international travel.
Full-Time. Salary: $260,000 - $275,000 per year.
