Over the course of nine weeks, you will gain a competitive edge by integrating your academic knowledge with practical industry experience, supported by expert coaching and mentoring. This program lays a solid foundation for your career path.
WHAT WILL YOU DO
- Project Management: Learn to manage a project’s full life cycle, helping to solve complex business issues or improve processes, guided by an experienced mentor. Contribute to Oriental’s business results.
- Networking and Collaboration: Engage in continuous discussions, consultations, and relationship-building with both internal and external client groups to collaborate effectively with individuals and teams across Oriental Bank.
- Data analysis and assessment: Assess needs and opportunities through various methodologies. Propose and implement solutions to achieve our digital transformation, increase productivity, and enhance efficiency through data-driven solutions and recommendations.
- Process Improvement: Critically evaluate the current state to design and enhance processes or services by following established risk management and compliance procedures.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Enrollment: Enrolled at an accredited university or college. Undergraduate students with expected graduation dates before May 2026 preferred. Master's and Doctorate students are also encouraged to apply.
- Major: Candidates should be pursuing a major in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Engineering, Data Science or Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Project Management, Applied Mathematics, Supply Chain, Marketing, or related areas preferred. Other majors may be considered.
- Experience: Previous internship or co-op experience preferred.
- Work modality: Availability to work on-site and hybrid during the summer of 2025 is required. Availability to travel is preferred.
- US Work Authorization: Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship is required.
SKILLS
- Learning Curiosity: Demonstrate a genuine interest in understanding how things work by asking insightful questions or independently seeking out information to solve problems.
- Data-driven: Ability to collect, process, and analyze data to extract meaningful insights.
- Problem-Solving: Capability to approach complex business challenges with innovative solutions.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish required. Ability to clearly articulate ideas and information in meetings, presentations, and everyday interactions.
- Digital Focus: Effective use of digital communication tools like email, instant messaging, and video conferencing. Comfort with a digital mindset for day-to-day tasks.
- Financial Analysis: Ability to analyze financial statements, perform financial modeling, and understand key financial metrics (required for some roles).
- Time Management: Effectively manage time to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks to ensure smooth project execution according to quality standards, required.
- Technical Proficiency: In computer systems, including MS Office (Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required. Knowledge of databases, visualization, querying, and other related tools for certain roles, preferred.
