As Optical Engineer you will be responsible for;

  • Design, develop, and integrate optical sensing systems for robotic applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define optical sensor requirements and specifications.
  • Perform system-level design, simulation, and testing of optical sensors involving LiDAR, cameras, and other photonic devices.
  • Optimize optical designs for cost, manufacturability, and performance.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of the optical components, from initial concept through prototyping, testing, and mass production.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to optical sensor performance in the field.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in optical technology and incorporate new innovations where applicable.

Qualifications;

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in optical sensor design and development, preferably in a robotics or high-volume consumer electronics environment.
  • Strong understanding of optical systems, imaging, lighting, and photonic devices.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with various engineering teams.
  • Experience with optical simulation software such as Zemax, LightTools, or similar is preferred.
    Experience with 3D CAD tools for mechanical design is preferred.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software and tools such as MATLAB or Python is nice to have
  • Knowledge of machine vision, image processing, and related software is beneficial.



Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
