Starr Insurance Companies is seeking an Operations Specialist with an insurance background. The specialist will support Senior Operations Management with the day to day operations for all Domestic Insurance Company business and will work in collaboration with various business functions and stakeholders throughout the organization.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assist in the documentation of procedures, best practices and operational guidelines, operations bulletins, and process changes
- Perform operations functions such as operations bulletin preparation, resolving internal customer questions/issues (i.e. underwriting, claims, regulatory reporting), and policy number register maintenance
- Assist management with various system implementation and enhancement projects including user acceptance testing
- Serve as primary point of contact for questions relating to underwriting support services functions, operational guidelines, and processing requirements
- Work closely with, IT, Business Intelligence, Regulatory Reporting, Producer Management, Profit Center Operations, Clams Operations, Underwriting Services and Quality Review departments to ensure adherence to best practices across all system and manual processes
- Assist management with implementing process improvements through automation or improved workflow
- As necessary, assist and act as backup for other team members (i.e. meeting coverage, action items)
- Other assignments as determined by management
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3-5 years’ experience in commercial insurance, preferably
- Intermediate / Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and communication skills required
- Intellectual curiosity and a desire to seek new challenges
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets: experience and training: licensure and certifications: and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $60,000-$75,000
