The Sr. Operations Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the facility. Key responsibilities include managing internal resources, developing and reviewing standard operating procedures, policies and operational guidelines to ensure product quality and employee productivity, and developing and regularly reporting on key performance indicators to the executive team in a scalable, efficient manner.

JOB DUTIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the procurement, inventory, and packaging departments at the MO facilities; Supports department leads in addressing production issues, implements solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Responsible for the oversight of products produced at the Macklind facility for Cloud Cover, Galactic, KIVA, Platinum Vape, and pre-packaged High Profile.
  • Develop and manage SOPs for the product and inputs intake, packaging, inventory management, warehousing and logistics of cannabis goods and packaging inventory to ensure they meet the needs of the company.
  • Evaluating performance objectives and metrics to determine inbound or outbound productivity requirements to achieve time, accuracy, and quality expectations.
  • Maintain active knowledge of incoming or outgoing inventory, and inventory levels on hand by communicating with department heads.
  • Assist with researching, evaluating, and selecting vendors, while maintaining strong working relationships with strategic suppliers.
  • Assist with the ongoing maintenance of an inventory management system for a large variety of SKU’s and product categories.
  • Maintain oversight of the facility vaults; ensure they are maintained in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Work closely with the Compliance team, Cultivation Manager, Post-Production Manager, Lab Manager, Infused Products Manager, Inventory & Packaging Manager, TRA Team and Wholesale Sales Team to discuss packaging needs, quality and schedule of deliveries for facility.
  • Work closely with the Wholesale Sales Team and Retail Merchandising team regarding inventory levels, allocation, and fulfillment; oversee execution of order fulfillment.
  • Maintain compliance with local and state regulations, company policies and SOPs for both inventory and packaging of cannabis products and non-cannabis products.
  • Directly communicate with governing bodies and METRC team on interpretations of regulations; resolve any discrepancies and issues.
  • Maintain and ensure a clean, sanitary environment and strict biosecurity and food handling protocols through the Macklind manufacturing facility.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises Lab Manager, Inventory & Packaging Supervisors, Product Supervisor, and (2) Warehouse Specialists. Responsible for the overall operations of the facility.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build and lead a high performance and efficient team while fostering a positive culture and work environment
  • Proven experience in a managerial role of at least 30+ employees
  • Working knowledge of safety and security requirements; willingness to learn state and local laws pertaining to medical and recreational cannabis.
  • Display good judgment in the face of changing priorities with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks, Strong decision-making capabilities under pressure.
  • High attention to detail, and experience inputting and reporting on high volumes of data.
  • Experience directing teams of employees required.
  • Excellent organization skills, ability to develop and implement operational best practices.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction, and to be both a manager and an individual contributor.
  • Ability to use and manage METRC; experience using METRC preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately with regulating bodies.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to obtain & maintain required state licenses based on work location.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk or hear; the employee is regularly required to use hands or fingers to, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.
  • Employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds; the employee is frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Employee is occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts; the employee is frequently required to work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather).
