The Opportunity

The College of Business at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide Campus, located in beautiful Daytona Beach , Florida is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Manager to support the strategic and day-to-day operations of the college. The Operations Manager manages the overall direction, coordination, planning, execution, and completion of medium to large and complex, enterprise-level projects. Leads and drives the project to completion while ensuring consistency with company strategy and goals. This role would manage a portfolio of projects from ingestion to resolution. Applying project management discipline, they would be responsible for strategic project planning and working with a team or business partners to manage execution. The ability to develop project artifacts, effectively communicate to stakeholders at all levels both written and verbal, as well as complete in-depth analysis to include visualization of data through reporting and dashboard creation is critical to success in this role. Furthermore, this position is the supervisor of the Graduate Assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Management:

  • Understand the scope of work and project specifications to determine the appropriate timeline.
  • Schedule projects in logical steps, manage business projects to adhere to budget, schedule, and scope.
  • Lead project delivery, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met; manage and monitor project schedules.
  • Set and track project milestones, manage unforeseen delays, and adjust schedules and expectations as needed.

Stakeholder and Team Coordination:

  • Identify key stakeholders, foster positive working relationships, and ensure effective communication and coordination among team members to achieve project objectives.
  • Serve as the operational point of contact for project teams, facilitating communication between stakeholders to ensure project alignment with the college’s operational strategies.
  • Perform research on project-related issues, participate in problem-solving and execution.
  • Coordinate project inspections and turnover.

Performance and Process Optimization:

  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize information and trends by using available data to prepare project status reports.
  • Apply continuous improvement practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of project management, directly contributing to operational excellence
  • Implement technological solutions that support the operational efficiency of the college.

Data Aggregation:

  • Serve as the point of contact for all data related to enrollment, retention, and graduation.
  •  Work with Associate Dean of Academics and Accreditation & student success to collect all accreditation related data.
  • Analyze and summarize information and trends by using available data to prepare project status reports.

Team Management and Development:

  • Manage the workload of Graduate Assistants, assign projects, and coordinate tasks.
  • Directly manage the Graduate Assistants to support operational tasks, ensuring their contributions align with the college's operational needs and strategic goals.
  • Lead the team in a highly collaborative way to resolve issues that may impact project deadlines.

Additional Duties:

  • Other duties as assigned. The Dean and Ops Manager will set the operational priorities based on the key responsibilities

Qualifications

Required Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of 5 years of equivalent experience (experience can substitute for degree requirements)
  • Masters preferred.
