Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Operations Assistant - Boca Raton, FL. 

 

The FAU College of Business is one of the largest AACSB-accredited colleges of business in the United States with more than 8,000 students. The college has seven departments and an impressive offering of degree programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels (including Ph.D.) as well as many online, executive, and certificate programs. We are seeking a service-minded, detail-oriented Operations Assistant with strong communication and organizational skills. This role requires an outgoing, adaptable team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can effectively prioritize tasks, and works well under deadlines. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing projects and events with colleagues, university departments, and community partners. 

  • Support the daily operations of the Boca Schmidt Family Complex and Office Depot Building, ensuring facilities are secure, clean, and well-maintained. 

  • Conduct observation rounds on campus to monitor security and cleanliness. 

  • Assist with event programming and management for Executive Education programs, including orientations, graduations, and evening class events. 

  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries and addressing questions effectively.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to building maintenance and classroom operations.

  • Open and close classrooms in accordance with scheduled activities.

  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds to support event setup and breakdown.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution and two years of experience required. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
This is a physically active role that requires the ability to:
Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries and addressing questions effectively.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to building maintenance and classroom operations.
Open and close classrooms in accordance with scheduled activities.
Lift and move up to 50 pounds to support event setup and breakdown.
