About the Team:

In 2022 we launched Nicola Institutional, which as of Dec 2024 manages $2.5 billion in assets. This division connects our exceptional asset management offering to the institutional market. Our capabilities extend beyond traditional stocks and bonds, encompassing a range of private investments that include real estate, private equity, infrastructure, and commercial mortgages. 

We are seeking an exceptional team member to join the Nicola Institutional division and contribute to its continued growth. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic, highly effective team, driving operational support and enhancing team effectiveness. Reporting to the Vice President, Institutional Sales - Client Relationship Manager, you will focus on executing day-to-day internal operations and administration, ensuring optimal client experience and effectiveness.

Purpose of the Role:

To facilitate the continued growth of the Nicola Institutional division, we are looking for an exceptional team member to bring operational support, drive increased team effectiveness and create capacity for senior team members to focus on delivering ongoing service for our existing and new Institutional clients. Reporting to the Vice President, Institutional Sales - Client Relationship Manager, your mandate will be to focus on executing day-to-day internal operations and administration. Through your work you will drive direct impact in the build out the Nicola Institutional division  

Core Responsibilities:

  • Work across internal divisions to identify and implement best practices for the Institutional Division ensuring maximized day-to-day deliverables. 
  • Establish systems and processes that ensure optimal client experience and effectiveness. 
  • Manage divisional materials, reports, content for client reports and publications. 
  • Collaborate to ensure operational efficiency, quality, and scalability of the division. 
  • Manage updates and maintain records on technology platforms such as eVestment and Salesforce 
  • Support in RFP development, including retrieving market and other data as needed 
  • Conduct prospect & market research, including conferences, events, prospect and centres of influence (COI) research, and other relevant contacts 
  • Maintain and update internal and external materials and communications such as pitch decks, fund performance figures, AUM sheets, SharePoint pages, LinkedIn posts/pages, and Newsletters. 
  • Prepare and distribute outgoing marketing and business development materials (emails and mail) including outreach packages and Institutional quarterly updates 
  • Prepare and respond to client requests & requirements, such as Monthly reports, Compliance certificates, EFTs, Onboarding, web access, signing authority requests and changes 
  • Assist with appointments (internal & external) 
  • Conduct market & competitor research 
  • Other relevant and related responsibilities, as assigned and as the needs of the organization change. 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of related work experience in Financial Services, within an Institutional investment environment.  
  • Undergraduate degree in a related discipline 
  • Entrepreneurial, start-up mindset combined with a keen focus on creating operational efficiency. 
  • Exceptional levels of attention to detail, highly organized with an execution focus. 
  • Proactive in determining where to add value and in your communication to others. 
  • A proven track record of a creative and collaborative approach to problem solving, skilled at working with a blank canvas to develop effective & efficient processes and innovative solutions. 
  • Natural ability to work cross-functionally, build relationships and collaborate to learn from and leverage others experiences and approaches that have been tried and tested elsewhere. 
  • Exceptional levels of proficiency with technology, including MS Office, SharePoint, databases.  
  • A strong drive for achieving personal excellence and contributing to team success. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships. 
  • Thrive in a dynamic and fast paced, deadline driven environment.  

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Completion of a graduate degree would be considered an asset. 
  • Desire to work towards CFA or CIM designation would be considered an asset.  
  • Superior client service skills that align with Nicola Wealth’s commitment to an exceptional and bespoke client experience.  
  • Experience delivering results in high performing client service-oriented role with both internal and external clients. 

Compensation & Benefits Package:

This position comes with a base salary range of $63,000 - $87,000 plus a competitive performance bonus, RRSP contribution and participation in our profit-sharing program. Base salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
