Position Summary
As a young and quickly growing company that combines financial understanding and engineering, MerQube’s environment is fast-paced, collegial, flexible and offers meaningful work. We are hiring an Operations Analyst to be responsible for the daily maintenance of index operations, focusing data quality and supporting both internal and external ad hoc projects. Supported by the Director of Operations, you will join a culture of respect, transparency, and strong collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that thousands of indices that our customers are relying on continue to work flawlessly, with exposure to equities, futures, options, and multi asset classes.
- Ensure accuracy of index implementation as well as the data used in computation.
- Interface directly with both clients and internal teams, developing processes for daily operations of these indices.
- Execute timely and effective incident response, identifying and mitigating issues to minimize downtime.
- Research and implement improvements enhancing systems performance and scalability.
- Continuously research and embrace technological advancements and industry best practices to deliver exceptional service.
- Actively identify and mitigate risks and escalate them so the team can proactively address present or anticipated operational challenges.
- Develop, implement, and maintain automation frameworks streamlining operational processes, reducing time spent on manual tasks.
- Draft comprehensive documentation for processes and procedures.
- Participate in knowledge sharing within the team and with support provided about the content and Delivery, provide cross-training to other relevant departments.
- Create and maintain runbooks and technical documentation, in addition to being familiar with internal and external escalation pathways.
- Required to work and after hours to respond to high-urgency or emergency events outside of your local time-zone.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, or Engineering and 3 years of experience with financial data management OR Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, or Engineering and 1 year of experience with financial data management.
Demonstrated knowledge of:
- Programming in Python, especially financial data management.
- Financial markets, and the intersection of software and quantitative finance.
- Building and rolling out support engineering tools and processes.
- Using financial data sets and financial data applications e.g. FactSet, Reuters, Morningstar, Bloomberg.
Knowledge may be demonstrated through education, training and/or experience.
Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience will be accepted.
Telework: Hybrid position; in office 3 days per week
SALARY: $125,000 - $160,000/year
