We are seeking a dynamic individual to fill the newly created role of Operations Accounting Manager, reporting directly to the Corporate Controller. In this crucial position, you will lead the accounting processes related to inventory management, including cost analysis, valuation, and reporting. This position requires a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is passionate about developing and implementing best-in-class inventory accounting practices.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee and manage all inventory-related accounting functions, including recording, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Ensure accurate valuation of inventory, including standard costs, variances, and obsolescence reserves.
  • Monitor and analyze inventory transactions to ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS standards.
  • Develop and maintain cost accounting systems to provide insight into inventory costs, profitability, and variances.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of inventory costs and recommend strategies for cost optimization.
  • Partner with operations, supply chain, and other teams to align processes with financial controls and compliance standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory accounting processes and drive automation and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory tracking, reporting, and reconciliation.
  • Prepare detailed inventory reports for management and stakeholders, including KPIs and variance analyses.
  • Support forecasting and budgeting processes by providing accurate inventory data and analysis.
  • Prepare for and support internal and external audits related to inventory.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in inventory or cost accounting, preferably in a tech, manufacturing, or high-growth environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, with expertise in inventory valuation and cost accounting.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience in scaling inventory accounting processes in a high-growth or start-up environment.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams and functions.
  • US Citizenship required.
