McKesson is currently seeking an Operations Manager in our Shepherdsville, KY Distribution Center. The Operations Manager is responsible for the operational activities of a variety of functional departments, distribution center(s), or facility(ies). Reviews and analyzes reports, records, and directives, and confers with managers/ supervisors to obtain data required for planning activities, such as new commitments, status of work in progress, and problems encountered.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 11am - Completion

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • May be responsible for one or more of the following activities related to the receiving, storing, and/ or shipping of materials or finished goods.
  • May be responsible for ensuring materials are received from proper vendors, delivered to inventory, and finished goods, are available to meet production schedules, packaged according to specification and shipped in a timely manner.
  • Ensures the security and accountability of materials and goods with inventory control. May evaluate current procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives and develop and implement improved procedures and practices.
  • Gives work direction, resolves problems, and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Monitors and analyzes costs and prepares budgets.

Employee Management

  • Ensures high-quality employee attraction, engagement, and development at all levels.
  • Builds bench strength through modeling ICARE/ILEAD and development of a high-performing culture. Work with regional management on succession planning.
  • Effectively manage all people issues including, but not limited to, labor, turnover, generational, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Provides leadership and support for ongoing training initiatives for management and employees.
  • Develop a strong team of DC leaders and provide coaching and appropriate development opportunities for direct reports.
  • Directs staff to provide a work environment that fosters creativity, productivity, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Maintains an engaged work environment by having a strong and friendly presence both on the floor and in the office.
  • Acts as an advocate for the facility’s management team to ensure swift resolution to both software and hardware problems. 

General Management and Operations

  • Collaborates with both regional management and local management to develop and align strategic initiatives to implement locally.
  • Actively oversees DC operations and management by giving work direction, resolving problems, and setting deadlines to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Develops the vision for the facility, while tracking current processes and regularly assessing if best practices are in place.
  • Collaborates with colleagues in other 3PL operations to drive consistency or processes and the development of the RxCrossroads by McKesson 3PL brand.

Financial Ownership

  • Utilizes financial acumen and knowledge, especially in making business decisions.
  • Monitors and analyzes costs and assists the management team in making a budget.
  • Directs local operations to ensure building’s performance is within budget and expense plans.

Cross-Function Partnerships

  • Collaborates with stakeholders from HR, Engineering, Six Sigma, Finance, and more to ensure operations are identifying, meeting, and exceeding desired output and best practices.
  • Coordinates with Transportation team and Contractors.
  • Strategize with leaders across the network to stay ahead of changing customer needs, industry advances, and labor planning concerns.
  • Facilitates success within the building by monitoring, preventing, and solving any concerns outside of the distribution center.

Compliance and Safety

  • Oversee compliance with federal, state, local, and company policies and safety regulations.
  • Assist the management team in diagnosing any safety concerns and creating ideal solutions.
  • Ensure the building is always prepared for either an internal or external audit.

Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):

  • 6+ years of operational experience.
  • 0-2+ years of supervisory experience

Education

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience

Critical Skills

  • Capable of handling multiple priorities and extensive time demands regarding both logistics and employee problems and engagement. Effectively navigates through complex situations, both internal and external, that may require multiple decision makers. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Operations/Distribution/Pharma Supply Chain Management.
  • Excellent organizational skills, excellent communication skills (verbal/written), management skills, and contract negotiations.
  • Advanced financial and business acumen to include knowledge of key financial statements drivers and levers.
  • Ability to develop, drive, implement, and maintain innovation and promote continuous improvement around engineering processes, customer support, cost structure,e and quality initiatives.
  • Experience with DEA regulation compliance.
  • Florida Designated Representative licensed.

Additional Skills

  • Strong PC skills and the ability to use McKesson’s suite of PC-based applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft, Outlook, etc.).
  • Experience with warehouse management systems.
  • Six Sigma training or continuous improvement experience.
  • SAP experience is a plus

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$62,700 - $104,500
