Position Purpose:

As a lead analyst on the Online Experimentation Team, you will help cross-functional stakeholders examine new ideas by formulating hypotheses and designing experiments to test those hypotheses - translating problem statements into experiment requirements, allowing them to accurately quantify the impact of their features. You will monitor and evaluate experiment results to measure impact and inform future strategies. You will continuously stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in experimentation and personalization. You will contribute to the advancement of the experimentation program at Home Depot.

  • Expand descriptive, prescriptive, and predictive analysis for experimentation: Enhance data capture for experiments. Conduct in-depth analyses to identify patterns and trends. Apply advanced statistical methods to recommend actionable insights that clarify impacts and resolve discrepancies. Set standards and guidelines for process and analysis.
  • Effective Storytelling with Data: Create visualizations and compelling narratives for complex situations and trends; tailoring explanations to a variety of audiences.
  • ML & AI for experimentation: Automate and enable more intuitive data querying and analysis. Explore various tools to enhance team capabilities. Develop scalable frameworks to detect recurring patterns across experiments. Apply ML techniques for experiment design optimization and results analysis.
  • Mentoring & Collaboration: Comfortable with training and mentoring team members and collaborating with cross-functional partners. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • 20% - Business Collaboration - Leverage extensive business knowledge into solution approach. Effectively develop trust and collaboration with internal customers and cross-functional teams. Partner with Other Orgs to understand potential for new tools and ways to maintain technical agility for advanced analytics.
  • 25% - Project Management & Team Support - Lead and manage large and complex projects and teams. Provide direction on prioritization of work and ensure quality of work. Collaborate with managers and team in the distribution of workload and resources. Serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) on both predictive and prescriptive analytics. Drive effective Agile project delivery protocols to assure we gather and surface reliable, actionable enterprise level analytics. Ensure the team comprehends and applies the established processes and standards and mentor team on development.
  • 30% - Solution Development - Effectively communicate insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical leaders and business customers/partners. Clearly communicate impacts of recommendations to drive alignment and appropriate implementation. Develops solutions to transform data into useful, actionable information​.
  • 25% - Technical Exploration & Development - Guide and direct project teams in the requirements gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs. Provide technical education on advanced analytics to analytics community. Drive analytics teams to get matured in predictive and prescriptive analytics.

Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a related field (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Business, or Economics) is a plus.
  • Proficient in scalable SQL and Python/R for hands-on analysis.
  • Hands-on, advanced statistical knowledge, and expertise, especially experimentation-specific concepts.
    Experience in Tableau/Power BI and Jupyter Notebook is a plus. 
  • Strong background in descriptive analytics, identifying patterns, and building analytical frameworks
  • Expertise in translating complex analyses into effective presentations and actionable recommendations.
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint for data manipulation and presentation
  • Skilled in advanced analytics and cloud-based tools/languages like GCP BigQuery
  • Expertise in model development and AI/ML work, particularly as applied to experimentation
  • Familiarity with experimentation platforms is beneficial
  • Experience with large-scale experimentation in e-commerce or retail environments is highly desirable
  • Curious and passionate about data and learning new tools & technology.

Minimum Education:

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Preferred Education:

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a master's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
