The OneStream System Manager is a new role reporting to the Head of Group FP&A and dotted line to the Head of Group Finance (leader of consolidation process). The role will focus on planning and consolidation activities run through the new OneStream system being implemented through 2025. The system is replacing two existing tools and is an essential part of integrating the Consumer Panel Services (CPS) element of the YouGov Group (acquired Jan 2024).
The role holder will play a pivotal part in the implementation, upgrading and running of the platform. They will work with teams from across Finance to ensure the monthly and year end consolidation runs smoothly, planning cycles are efficient and assumptions managed, reporting and financial disclosures are automated and system integrations are in place with the required controls. There will also be the opportunity to understand and drive change across the wider systems and master data landscape at YouGov.
Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):
System Implementation:
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of the OneStream platform. Phase 1 - consolidation ahead of year end (July), Phase 2 - planning by end of 2025 and Phase 3 onwards - other applications TBC.
- Coordinate with our implementation partner (Black Diamond Advisory) and internal teams to ensure timely and successful delivery
- Bring together processes, master data and systems from established YouGov and the new CPS division to define best practice
- Define and document system requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT), system configuration, and data migration processes
System Ownership:
- Take full ownership of the OneStream platform post-implementation, including data, assumptions and processes
- Create and implement plans for integrating data from future state systems (ERP, HRIS, CRM etc) and our reporting platform (PowerBI)
- Maintain the platform roadmap, incorporating future enhancements, upgrades, and scalability plans
Planning and Consolidation processes:
- Lead the development and ongoing management of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes within OneStream
- Oversee system aspects of the financial consolidation processes, ensuring compliance with statutory and management reporting requirements
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with finance teams to understand and translate business requirements into effective OneStream solutions
- Partner with IT and external vendors to implement system updates, resolve issues and support integrations
- Deliver training and ongoing support to users, ensuring effective adoption and use of the platform
Governance and Compliance:
- Ensure the system complies with relevant regulatory, security and audit requirements.
- Develop and enforce best practices for data governance, user access and system usage
These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview:
- Proven experience of implementing and managing the OneStream Planning and Consolidation system
- Detailed understanding of financial planning, consolidation processes and report building
- Good understanding of ERP systems and data, e.g. NetSuite and SAP, also Salesforce or equivalent CRMs
- Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems
- Proficiency considering how data can be used in reporting in OneStream and via PowerBI (or similar)
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Driven and action-oriented personality, ability to co-ordinate and project manage change, to learn quickly and nurture professional relationships
