We're looking for an Office Operations Assistant to help us accomplish our mission to improve and extend lives by learning from the experience of every person with cancer. Are you ready to be the next changemaker in cancer care?
What You'll Do
As an office operations assistant you will report to Flatiron's office manager and will provide hands-on, real-time support for all facilities related activities. You will ensure our office environment is clean, well-run, safe, well maintained and an exciting place to work for Flatiron employees and visitors. In addition you'll also:
- Conduct routine orientation and maintain secure access (and reporting) for NYC headquarters including direct connections with building management
- Ensure a safety and health-code compliant work environment
- Manage facilities-specific activities including mail delivery and receipt, supplies management, special event support, and daily maintenance for kitchen, bath and shared spaces (inclusive of engaging third-party and building maintenance experts as needed)
- Coordinate office suppliers and oversee quality services for daily snacks, weekly lunch, monthly Connection Day, and special employee experiences
- Attend to requests through office ticketing platform and Slack channel
- Serve as first point of contact for subtenant requests, log requests, and determine path to resolution
- Work with cross-functional teams for co-owned tasks and activities involving facilities (such as Employee Experience, Procurement, IT, and Communications)
Who You Are
You're a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who values the opportunity to think beyond the way things are. In addition, you're a resourceful troubleshooter with 2-6 years of experience in an office management or facilities oversight function within a fast-paced environment.
- You are comfortable with and excited to lead facilities services in a matrixed, on-site, and remote (for non-NY offices) model
- You are able to manage a fast paced environment, with just-in-time request management, and varying levels of intensity with a can-do spirit of fulfillment
- You prioritize customer service and enjoy working with people at all levels of the organization including visitors and suppliers
- You have excellent interpersonal, writing, and communication skills
- You have strong organizational and administrative skills
- You are excited about building and maintaining effective working relationships
- You are adaptable and have a desire to learn and develop your skill set to take on more responsibility
- You have a Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field or relevant experience in facility management
Extra credit
- You have experience overseeing facilities remotely including internationally
- You have or are interested in pursuing a certification as a Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or related credential
Where you'll work
In this office-based role, you'll be expected to work from our NY hub Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM ET.

Job Compensation Range
Salary Range: $23.85 - $35.77
Preferred Primary Location: NY hub
The annual pay range reflected above for this position is based on the preferred primary location of the role which is listed in the job description. Salary ranges for other locations vary from the range reflected above. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. An annual bonus and equity may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
