Position: Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (September 2024)
Our 20-year-old, independently owned, primary care/family medicine practice strives to provide a best-in-class patient experience in every interaction. We are seeking a highly-skilled, experienced Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing team.
Our ideal candidate will be deeply committed to nurturing our practice's mission of teamwork, communication, empowerment, and quality care in a friendly and encouraging environment in a tight-knit, fast-growing community. They will ideally have 3+ years of experience in a clinic or fast-paced, dynamic environment such as an urgent care or CVS MinuteClinic. They will be comfortable with managing administration, making management-level decisions during their shifts, setting and meeting KPI's, and working autonomously.
Secondary responsibilities will be consistently assessing for opportunities to improve operational efficiencies in running and streamlining the functionality of the practice, increasing patient volume through driving return visits, and increasing the positive brand of the practice within the community.
This role will be comprised of 2-3 days/shifts per week, exceeding no more than 32 hours.

Employee will dually report to Medical Director and Director of Business Operations.

Job Description
- Assist in leading clinical staff, in behaviors, actions, and attitudes in delivering excellent patient care. Provide guidance as necessary to ensure quality professional services and patient satisfaction.
- Ensure accurate completion of patient charts in a timely matter and forwarding charts as appropriate on a daily basis. As well as build and maintain confidence and credibility with all employees.
- Maintain behavior that is compliant with Federal and State regulations, guidelines, and requirements including working knowledge of all health information management issues such as HIPAA.
- Order, perform, or interpret the results of diagnostic tests, as well as responsibly prescribe medications and educate patients on continued treatment and care of acute and chronic conditions.
- Perform therapeutic procedures, including but not limited to I&D, splinting, suturing, managing infection, and wound care.
- Analyze and interpret patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, and diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
- Ensure accurate completion of patient charts in a timely matter and forwarding charts as appropriate on a daily basis.

- Provide holistic, evidenced-based care inclusive of accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health problems, health counseling, and disposition planning for our patients.
- Offer, order, and administer immunizations and injections (to include but not limited to COVID-19, influenza, TB, Depo) and provides evidence-based patient/parent vaccine counseling and education
- The ability to consult with patients through virtual communication channels.
- Proven experience working as a Telehealth Clinician.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Additional Highly Desired Requirements
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and autonomous environment.
- Working knowledge of Spanish language
Required Qualifications
- At least 3+ years of experience as a provider in a relevant practice, such as Urgent Care or Occupational Medical Facility, ER or Trauma Unit, Primary Care or Family Medical Practice is strongly preferred (less experience may be considered in lieu of other skillsets). Candidates who DO NOT have experience in one of these areas will not be considered based on known skillsets required to be successful in this particular role.
- Complete the DOT certification exam within 30 days of employment
- FNP/Family Nurse Practitioner, APRN, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant/PA
- Current TX license
- Nurse Practitioner certification from either the ANCC / AANP
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Working knowledge of chronic care management and various medication options
- Current DEA licensure / Prescriptive Authority post-hire in TX

Education
- Master's Degree level Family Nurse Practitioner program with current National Board Certification and State of Employment license to practice in the Advanced Practice Nurse role
- OR
- Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (or other health-related Master's Degree or equivalent experience together with Bachelors of Science in Physician Assistant Studies) with current National Board Certification and State of Employment license to practice in the role
Compensation
- Compensation is commensurate with practitioners background, skillset, licensure, training, and experience, as well as current market area rates. We study our local market in-depth and keep a close pulse on comparable market rates so we remain competitive.
- Compensation package will typically include a base salary plus potential bonuses based on internal company and patient satisfaction scores.
Licensing & Insurance
- Our clinic will pay for all med-mal insurance and any licenses that are specific to our practice. Licenses that will “travel” with a practitioner (ie, go with them if they moved to another clinic, hospital, etc.) will not be covered by our clinic and would be the responsibility of the practitioner.
