The Role

Summary / Objective
As a NOC Analyst you will support the Afilias India/Identity Digital registry network monitoring team to assess Networks and Systems Performance on a real-time basis. Additional responsibilities of this position are, but not limited to; providing technical guidance to Afilias India/Identity Digital Customer Support Team, identifying, troubleshooting and escalating Infrastructure, Systems & Network impacting events and supporting root cause analysis efforts. This position requires a critical eye for detail and the ability to identify infrastructure, network and applications activity impacts. The candidate must have the ability to communicate "cause and effect" issues on a technical level.
A solid understanding of networks and some experience with core registry components is necessary to the success of this position, and must be learned quickly and comprehensively. A team of technical and management resources supports this position who are dedicated to improving the operational performance of the registry.
***This is temporary up to 6 months with the potential to become a permanent team member***
What You'll Do

  • Support 7x24x365 network and systems monitoring.
  • Monitor all aspects of Network, Systems and Network Infrastructure.
  • Provide network support for the Identity Digital registries and production networks.
  • Prompt escalation of application/system problems including assisting in determining root cause of problem through to appropriate solution.
  • Keeping internal and external customers apprised of work effort being conducted to resolve their issues through the construction and issuing of notices using the appropriate templates provided.
  • Consults with appropriate members of the IT and/or Development team in order to assist in the resolution of customer and registry issues.
  • Escalates to NOC Team Leads, NOC Manager, On-call Duty Manager, IT and/or Development support when appropriate.
  • Acts as first level support for customer problems.
  • Prepares management reports and performs daily/weekly checklists.
  • Acts as a liaison between both technical and business departments.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Who You Are / What You Bring

  • 1-2 years experience in a 24x7 mission critical environment.
  • University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Computer Networking, Telecommunications, Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Solid understanding of DNS infrastructure from Root level to Registrant level.
  • Installation, configuration and maintenance of Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with some of the following:
    • Jira Service Management, Service Now, and/or other ITSM tools.
    • Icinga, Loki, Graylog, Grafana, Nagios, SNMP, Prometheus Stack, OpsGenie, and Rundeck.
    • Scripting knowledge in one or more of the following: GIT, HTML, GraphQL, REST API, Bash, Perl, Python, Java, Server Side Javascript (node.js), and Golang
    • SQL knowledge in MySQL, Postgres, Elasticsearch and InfluxDB (or other time series databases), Grafana Mimir.
    • Knowledge of data serialization format such as XML, YAML, TOML, and JSON
    • Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, Ansible, and Docker


Nice to have

  • RHCSA and/or RHCE Certification
  • LPIC-1 and/or LPIC-2 Certification
  • CCNA and/or Network+ Certification
  • Familiarity with ITIL's Incident Management


Hours

  • Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm IST


Base Compensation

  • Starting at INR 425,000 with flexibility to go up based on experience
