Normal Working Hours: 3:30pm - 12:30am (must be flexible to work additional hours as needed)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Night Shift Operations Manager will be responsible for providing leadership, direction, and resource stewardship for a high-volume manufacturing site located in Lithia Springs, GA. This role is accountable for driving impactful improvement to the culture, work environment, and for delivering performance at or above expectations for safety, employee engagement, service, cost, and quality. This is the key leadership role in the plant at night.

    Successful candidates are change agents, effective communicators, and show personal resilience while holding their teams accountable for excellent performance. This position reports to the Plant Manager and has multiple salaried direct reports.Direct the execution of the manufacturing operation based on daily requirement and value stream capacity

    • Create a work environment where employees are motivated to continuously improve value stream processes, and accomplish both individual and team goals and objectives
    • Use daily management metrics to conduct fact-based analysis of current state, drive solutions to achieve results (solve to root cause level), and champion accountability through the various plant value streams
    • Responsible for the safety and security of our employees - identify, assess, and address any immediate safety/security issues ensuring that all Environmental Health and Safety/OSHA regulations are met
    • Drive continuous improvement actions positively impacting our cost and operational excellence metrics
    • Use qualitative and quantitative approaches to optimize labor to achieve premier level results
    • Unwavering expectation that relationships between supervisors, peers, and employees are respectful and inclusive
    • Help drive all quality systems and activities within the site to meet customer satisfaction metrics
    • Support successful new product launches and technology upgrades
    • Actively support workplace organization standards (5S) and hold team accountable to sustain
    • Actively support and drive TPM (Autonomous Maintenance) within the site
    • Provide direction and mentorship to direct reports including effective performance management discussions
    • Engage human resources to address performance issues ensuring consistent and objective application of plant policies
    • Provide consistent and detailed shift summaries as required
    • Strong liaison between shifts/departments to drive expectations, communicate issues, and ensure daily and weekly production line and supervisor meetings are effective
    • All other duties as assigned for this role

    Qualifications

    • Associate degree required
    • Bachelor of Science highly desired
    • Bilingual ability (Spanish or Vietnamese) is a PLUS
    • Experience in the building products industry (ex. window and doors) a PLUS
    • Five (5) plus years of experience in a medium to large manufacturing environment
    • Four (4) plus years in a supervisor or manager role
    • Strong communications skills - ability to write, read, understand and edit manufacturing procedures, work instructions, schedules, part numbers, and descriptions
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Office 365
    • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, reach, lift, push/pull without restriction frequently during shift
    • Experience working in diverse multicultural environment
    • Lean and continuous improvement knowledge beneficial
    • Ability to work occasional weekends when needed
    • Experience with Kronos, Dayforce, Oracle and/or MRP systems a PLUS
