How do we work?

As part of the Corporate IT Team, the System Administrator will work with other administrators to ensure the smooth operation of OANDA's internal corporate network and related systems, supporting global offices and employees while learning about and shaping the internal office network, infrastructure, and Linux and Windows servers in both physical and cloud environments.

In this role, you will:

• Design, implement, and maintain global network and server infrastructure (on-premise and cloud) – that includes SDN technologies, WAN, Site-to-Site VPN/MPLS technologies, Office Wi-Fi, Cisco routing/switching, FortiCloud, FortiGate, and Voice Gateways.

• Maintain and troubleshoot Cisco Voice Gateways and Genesys Cloud.

• Diagnose and resolve network and system faults.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT operations.

• Install and test databases and associated products.

• Support the implementation of security measures.

• Ensure adherence to organizational policies and regulatory codes.

• Solve complex, time-sensitive networking issues.

• Identify and implement process and procedure improvements.

• Collaborate on security incident response.

• Act as a first responder for emergency IT issues.

• Develop content for our knowledge base.

• Help maintain a secure authentication environment.

• Write automation scripts (Ansible, Terraform, etc.).

• Provide support to the Technical Operations team for system stability and performance.

• Develop personal technical capabilities and stay updated on industry best practices.

What skillset you need, to be successful in this role?

• 2+ years of commercial experience in a similar role.

• Experience in on-prem, cloud, and hybrid cloud environments.

• Deep understanding of client-server architecture for debugging.

• Knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, SSL, and other common networking protocols.

• Experience working with SDN technologies, WAN, Site-to-Site VPN/MPLS technologies, Office Wi-Fi, Cisco routing/switching, FortiCloud, Fortigate, Voice Gateways.

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

• Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to have: 

•  Experience working in FortiGate, Genesys Cloud.

• Knowledge of scripting languages.
