The Team

The Medical Science Liaison will join the Medical Affairs team will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining scientific relationships with Key External Experts in the designated area (KEE) in a compliant manner. Serve as a scientific expert and provide medical and scientific support for our portfolio of products (with a focus on anti-infectives). To support the needs of the wider business and commercial functions.

Role and Responsibilities

KOL Engagement

  • Identify, establish, and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and academic institutions.

  • Act as a scientific resource to KEEs and facilitate scientific discussions on our therapeutic areas of focus.

  • Organize and participate in advisory boards, investigator meetings, and scientific symposia.

  • Collaborate with the external scientific community to explore ways of facilitating medical education and research within the spirit of Farmaindustria code.

Product Knowledge

  • Develop and maintain an up to date and deep clinical and scientific understanding of our product portfolio and therapeutic area, including clinical data, indications, and competitor information.

Scientific Communication

  • Deliver presentations and scientific information to healthcare professionals and KEEs, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.

  • Appropriately respond to medical inquiries and requests for information from external sources within the spirit of the Farmaindustria code

  • Keep abreast of the latest developments in relevant therapeutic areas and communicate scientific insights internally.

Clinical Trials Support

  • Collaborate with clinical development teams to provide input on study design, protocol development, and investigator-initiated research.

  • Assist in the identification and engagement of potential and active investigators for clinical trials.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Undertake any training required to fulfil the role

  • Maintain up to date knowledge on the Farmaindustria EFPIA codes of practice

  • Ensure that all interactions and communications comply with company policies, regulations, and industry standards.

Development and delivery of the medical plan (alongside the head office medical team)

  • Attend and submit content for appropriate regional, national, and international meetings and congresses.

  • Collaborate with local colleagues to implement medical strategies. 

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders globally and within Spain e.g. sales, marketing, market access etc

  • Provide scientific support to internal teams, including training for sales and marketing colleagues.

Behaviours and continuing professional development

  • Timely reporting of interactions and adverse events.

  • Demonstrate behaviours and integrity in line with Farmaindustria / Mundipharma company values.

What you’ll bring

  • Degree in life sciences, medicine or pharmacy, preferably with a PhD.

  • Willingness to travel extensively (nationally and internationally).

  • At least 3 years of experience as MSL.

  • Desired experience in infectious diseases, intensive care or haemato-oncology.

  • Customer and service oriented. Self-starter, tenacious, resilient and with a can-do attitude.

  • Confident presentation and moderation skills.

  • Knowledge of relevant laws, rules, and compliance codes.

  • Knowledge of common IT applications (MS Office), especially PowerPoint.

  • Very good knowledge of written and spoken English.
