The Position
CallRail is looking for a Mobile Product Designer to join our product team. We are looking for a designer with experience creating SaaS products within mobile applications and responsive web environments. If you have extensive experience designing responsive experiences for complex systems, we want to get to know you! As a Product Designer with a focus on mobile/responsive designs, you will be instrumental in sharing your knowledge of responsive patterns and establishing best practices along-side our team of designers, product managers, and engineers.
To excel in this role, you will need to be a confident self-starter who collaborates well with many stakeholders. You have experience bringing thoughtful user and industry research and analysis to your design solutions, user flows, and wireframes. You not only ask the right questions that uncover the right problems, but you are able to advocate for your solutions. You know how to translate well-defined desktop experiences and are adept at restructuring them for mobile and responsive spaces. You are not only limited to mobile spaces; having a clear understanding of responsive design principles, you are also able to design for desktop experiences.
Our current group of product designers work on cross-functional delivery teams and come together for design collaboration and open peer feedback. On our cross-functional teams, you’ll be supported by a leadership team that has deep product and industry knowledge, product managers who are thoughtful and UX-minded, and a technical team who has experience building successful products.
What You'll Do
You will be responsible for leading mobile and responsive product design projects that ensure our omni-channel communications and analytics product is a best-in-class mobile experience:
- Work closely with your product manager and engineering team to come up with creative solutions to complex problems for our mobile and responsive users.
- Conduct and evaluate research to ensure your designs are informed by real user experiences for mobile and responsive environments.
- Develop mobile and responsive patterns and work with our UI Design Systems team to build out templates and well-defined standards to use across design teams.
- Advocate for the product, constantly seeking to better understand our users’ needs and ideating solutions to serve them.
- Understand the needs of the business and form relationships with other product leaders to ensure your internal users are included.
- Work with and mentor less experienced designers, sharing your skills and expertise.
- Design interfaces and interactions for new and existing features. Your primary focus will be mobile and responsive designs. However, you may need to help with desktop projects as needed.
- Work closely with developers to implement new features and establish mobile best practices.
- Look out for opportunities to make our app more intuitive and easy to use while prioritizing time-sensitive projects.
- Collaborate with the design team to promote and expand design culture at CallRail.
What You'll Need
- 4+ years of experience as a mobile / responsive focused UX/product designer.
- Experience working with native design kits, knowing when to use them and when to create custom components.
- A portfolio demonstrating your design prowess for responsive environments and mobile applications.
- Must be able to clearly articulate and present design concepts to cross-functional teams and leadership.
- A strong sense of design fundamentals, including iconography, typography, color, and data visualization.
- Mastery of design tools, such as Figma, Sketch. Our team uses Figma.
- Mastery of prototyping mobile user flows.
- Using style guides and design systems is second-nature.
- Experience working as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team. You communicate clearly and listen intently. High-level presentation skills are a major plus.
- Prior experience conducting user research and ability to synthesize feedback with data to guide design decisions.
- Experience using product analytics tools, such as Pendo or FullStory, is a major plus. Our team uses both.
- Foundational understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-moving and changing environment as the team and our product grows.
If you do not meet all the requirements listed, we still encourage you to apply! No job description is perfect, and we may also have another opportunity that aligns with your skills and experience.
