Key Responsibilities:
- Web Application Development: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in PHP to build high-performance, dynamic web applications and APIs.
- System Architecture & Design: Design and architect scalable, secure, and maintainable backend systems. Ensure applications are optimized for speed and performance.
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Guide and mentor junior and mid-level developers. Conduct code reviews, provide feedback, and share best practices to foster continuous improvement.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, and other developers to ensure seamless integration of front-end and back-end technologies.
- Optimizing Performance: Troubleshoot and optimize application performance, addressing issues such as load times, scalability, and reliability.
- Code Quality & Standards: Enforce best practices for software development, including test-driven development (TDD), clean code principles, and continuous integration (CI).
- Innovation & Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, PHP advancements, and emerging technologies. Experiment with new tools and frameworks to improve development processes.
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for systems, applications, and processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of professional PHP development experience, with a strong focus on object-oriented programming (OOP), RESTful API development, and modern PHP frameworks.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of PHP, including experience with PHP 7/8.
- Hands-on experience with PHP frameworks like Symfony, Laravel, or Zend.
- Strong knowledge of MySQL or other relational databases, with experience in database optimization and query design.
- Experience working with version control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab).
- Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Vue.js, React, or Angular is a plus).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) and deployment practices.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Travis CI, etc.).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with microservices architecture and APIs.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and automation tools.
- Experience with frontend JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js) or CSS frameworks (Bootstrap, Tailwind).
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools like Jira, Trello, or Asana.
- Experience in eCommerce platforms, CMS, or other content-driven web solutions.
