In our Brazil operation, EBANX has its own Payment Institution, duly regulated by the Central Bank of Brazil, connected to key regulated products such as Pix. Thus, we are looking for a Mid-level Software Engineer to join our Core Banking Team.

You will work in a team of experienced developers and be responsible for maintaining a platform that processes millions of transactional requests every day. We cultivate an engineering culture that values and promotes sustainable quality, high availability, quick feedback, meritocracy, and accountability.

As an EBANX developer, you will be responsible for:

• Writing and testing code in an incremental, agile, and well-documented way;
• Performing code reviews and collaborating on design decisions with your teammates;
• Testing and following your code to production continuously;
• Supporting the development of tools to enhance your team’s productivity;
• Interacting with colleagues from different departments like CloudOps, Product, Fraud Prevention, Accounting, and Regulatory;
• Participating in strategic projects for EBANX;
• Evolving and deciding the future of our platform;
• Working on a high-availability (+ 99.9%) and high-throughput platform, Java Spring-based;
• Creating, handling, and improving complementary software based on other technologies such as Quarkus (Java), GoLang, and multiple computing technologies, including serverless architecture;
• Creating metrics and monitoring tools for the platform;
• Maintaining one of the largest Pix ecosystems in Brazil.

What is indispensable for the position?

• Passion for software development and problem-solving;
• Ability to solve problems through the evolution of existing software products;
• Foundational understanding of designing and organizing solutions using good architecture and coding practices;
• Interest in topics such as data structures, concurrency, persistence, and distributed systems;
• Ability to adopt and learn new practices, technologies, and programming languages while absorbing engineering culture;
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases;
• Understanding of design patterns and object-oriented principles;
• Experience in consuming and designing REST APIs;
• Familiarity with Cloud Computing;
• Interest in test-driven development;
• Intermediate English (good reading and writing skills; conversational speaking is a plus).

What would we love to see?

• Previous experience in Banking/Pix or Financial areas and related projects;
• Experience with deploying and monitoring cloud infrastructure, especially AWS;
• Knowledge and experience in Java, Spring, and Hibernate;
• Experience with test-driven development and writing maintainable tests;
• Familiarity with distributed systems and solving concurrency challenges;
• Knowledge in monitoring and observability tools;
• Knowledge of data replication and reconciliation;
• Understanding of computer networks, latency, and routing optimization;
• Experience and interest in serverless solutions;
• Advanced English communication skills to collaborate with global teams and customers.
