The Opportunity

We have a rare opportunity for a Metocean Operations Lead and Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will take full ownership of Metocean projects, including; planning, execution, and delivery, as well as reviewing lessons learnt.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinate logistics required for project preparation, mobilisation, and resource allocation.
• Leading deployment, recovery, servicing of metocean moorings.
• Management, mentoring of the operational metocean team.
• Responsible for the maintenance, storage and mobilisation of metocean equipment.
• Deliver all aspects of project management activities, including commercial and technical on time and withing budget.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring high client satisfaction, repeat project opportunities and a reputation of delivery excellence.
• Support commercial team, as required, with tender review and technical input..
• Ensure compliance with regulations and laws governing business operations.

Our Marine Site Characterisation department specializes in marine projects, mainly within the offshore energy sectors across Australia and the Asia Pacific region and is currently experiencing high demand in the offshore renewables market.
Within this department, our Metocean team is dedicated to gathering and analyzing oceanographic and meteorological data to support offshore projects. They measure and monitor various parameters, including waves, currents, water temperature, water level, wind speed and direction, among others.

About You

Your love for the elements and on the job experience, mixed with your proactive and detail-oriented nature will set you up for success in this role. We are ideally looking for someone who has a strong background in project management with experience in metocean operations offshore.

Additionally:

• Bachelor's degree in Oceanography, Marine Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Understanding of metocean data and technical documentation.
• Project Management background with sound understanding of PM principles and software, ideally in a related role or industry.
• Leading deployment, recovery, servicing of metocean moorings.Flexible, reliable, independent, and able to work well in a constantly changing environment.
• Emotional intelligence with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with colleagues, clients, sub-contractors and suppliers.
