Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech.?  Vishay Dover is seeking a full-time Methods and Standards Engineer responsible for caring for excellent best-practices, methods and standards applied in operational processes. Focus is on the efficiency of processes, tools, and systems and championing Lean philosophy/principles/tools/methods.

We’re located southwest of downtown Dover which is the largest city in the New Hampshire Seacoast region, the oldest permanent settlement in New Hampshire, and the seventh oldest in the U.S.A.  We’re less than seven miles from the main campus of UNH, and another fun fact is that Dover even is the birthplace of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. 

What you will be doing:

• Facilitate the Dover Continuous Improvement program, including, but not limited to: implement production improvement actions to improve yield/rate/flow; lead events; conduct training; maintain measurement and metrics; drive 7S methodology; lead plant and production cell layout changes and new equipment introduction activities; contribute in converting feedback into standardized organizational knowledge sharing.

• Monitor and publish production efficiency (yield, rates, variances), conduct data analysis, and work within Operations and Engineering to recommend manufacturing standard adjustments or improvements.

• Estimate manufacturing costs as part of the quote process.

• Participate as a member of the Safety and Ergonomics teams.

• Interface across functional groups within the Dover site, Vishay, and industry to learn and share best practices and implement useful tools/methodologies to enhance Operational Capability and Efficiency of the Dover site.

What you will bring along:

• Education – Bachelor’s degree or technical degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or Technology, Operations Research, or Business and/or combination of schooling and experience.

• Experience – At least 2 years within a manufacturing environment.

• Skills – Experience in/with statistical analysis (including with Excel and Minitab); Lean, Lean-Sigma, Six-Sigma awareness or familiarity; Project management fundamentals; Communication and presentation.
