    Position Summary

    We are looking for an individual to join us as Merchant Acquiring - Risk Technology Specialist based in Mumbai, India and South Asia and be a part of our consulting arm - Visa Consulting and Analytics. Based in Mumbai and reporting directly to the Head of Managed Services, , India and South Asia, the role will be responsible for evaluating and implementing risk technology solutions for merchant acquiring. The specialist will work closely with clients and internal teams to design and review risk processes, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies to ensure successful project implementation, ensuring they adhere to market best practices and regulatory compliance using Visa resources. This role involves working closely with clients and internal teams to enhance risk management practices and support the development of risk strategies. The person would be expected to play an active role in the sales pitch process by collaborating with internal teams’ basis the client asks.

    Key Responsibilities

    What services would be provided by VMS?

    VCA Managed Service (VMS) is growing rapidly across the AP region and the purpose of this role is to develop VMS solutions and capabilities that will accelerate that growth over the next 3-5 years. VMS provides comprehensive risk management solutions.

    Our offerings include development of the following capabilities:


    1. Assisting with the evaluation and implementation of acquiring risk technology solutions, aligning them with the client's management team.
    2. Designing and reviewing acquiring risk processes for the bank and reporting progress to the client's management team.
    3. Identifying risks in the implementation process and proposing mitigation steps to stay aligned with the project plan.
    4. Liaising with the client's risk, operations, technology, compliance, and relevant teams or third parties to ensure effective implementation.
    5. Supporting client teams in building and finalizing their risk strategies and implementation approaches for projects.
    6. Developing and implementing risk control and management strategies to minimize financial and legal impacts on clients' businesses.
    7. Designing and reviewing acquiring risk policies for banks, aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
    8. Liaising with clients' risk, operations, technology, compliance, and other relevant teams or third parties to ensure effective risk management.
    9. Supporting client teams in building and finalizing their risk strategies and policies
    10. Ensuring policies and procedures are up to date with current market trends and developments in risk management principles.

    Qualifications

    With minimum of 7-8 years' experience having already accumulated a variety of experience, you will combine a strong understanding of the banking, card or payments industry with strong consulting and implementation experience. You will be client driven, comfortable managing a project end to end and relish the opportunity to develop new solutions and capabilities that will meet our client's needs.

    Specific skills and experience you will bring are:

    1. Proven expertise in deploying and managing merchant acquiring risk solutions, with extensive experience in the domain.
    2. Strong understanding of risk technology solutions, including implementation frameworks and technology stacks.
    3.  Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate and manage tasks efficiently.
    4. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with strong presentation and communication skills.
    5. Awareness of current market trends and developments in acquiring risk solutions.
    6.  Experience in working within banks, payment aggregators, or similar intermediary roles.
    7. Proficiency in solution implementation activities, tech stack design, and the formulation of risk solution functions and features.
    8. In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry, including regulatory compliance, reporting procedures, and record-keeping guidelines.
    9. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks effectively.
    10. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with strong presentation skills.
    11. Experience in working within banks, payment aggregators, or similar intermediary roles.
    12. Proficiency in policy writing, review, gap analysis, and documentation/reporting activities.
    13. Analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor.
    14. Strong team leadership skills with a collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style; able to work effectively in a matrixed organization.
    15. Detail oriented, ensuring the highest level of quality/rigor in reports and data analysis.
    16. Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and written capabilities.
    17. Self-motivated, results-oriented individual with the ability to progress multiple priorities concurrently.
    18. Strong commercial acumen, with experience in working on business/value cases that prove ROI
