KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Medical Expertise

  • Continuously acquires the necessary therapeutic area/product scientific knowledge in order to deliver high quality scientific expertise to Pfizer Romania;
  • Plans and executes medical scientific strategic plans, as per their specialty role.


External Scientific Conversation management

  • Lead medical to medical (M2M) communications in the field and records relevant medical insights, and transforms insights into actionable items;
  • Acts as scientific expert partner for HCPs, Med. Societies, Academia, etc. by: mapping, identification and interaction with relevant external stakeholders in the therapeutic area, contributes to planning and development of medical education events (such as, but not limited to, M2M presentations, workshops) in accordance with the medical / cross functional objectives.


Partnership with relevant internal stakeholders

  • Engage in team meetings, cross-functional projects;
  • Partners with Medical Affairs Review and Approval Expert (MARA) for appropriate Medical content review, provides input and feedback to relevant (internal) stakeholders as per applicable internal SOPs;
  • Identifies additional training needs, and enhances knowledge of Commercial Customer Facing colleagues with up-to-date information;
  • Partners with Regulatory as required by internal SOPs or Work Instructions (WI)
  • Ensure that internal training programs content are medically and ethically accurate, appropriate and relevant for the Romanian market application; ensures the preparation and delivery of medical trainings .


Medical Information (MI)

  • Exhibits broad knowledge of assigned therapeutic areas and a solid understanding of pertinent disease state(s).
  • Increases awareness of MI function with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Participates as a member and MI resource on Business Units Product/Therapeutic Team(s).
  • Represents Pfizer by providing live MI support at scientific conventions/congresses; may serve as the lead for coordinating the MI function at scientific conventions/congresses.
  • Maintains compliance with corporate and departmental trainings, standard operating procedures, and implementation guidelines.


Financial Accountability

  • Provides input for the development of the Medical Department OP.
  • Ensures the planned medical activities are within the agreed/allocated budget, identifies additional project opportunities.


Compliance and Quality Awareness

  • Ensures sound knowledge of and compliance with scientific, legal, regulatory, ethical standards for all Pfizer activities, and takes appropriate action if non-compliance is identified;
  • Interact with internal and external networks, including Medical Quality network and share best practices;
  • Demonstrate value proposition of quality and compliance to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Have knowledge of and apply all the related laws, Compliance and Business Ethics rules (e.g. related to promotional activities) and ensure that any violation is immediately reported;
  • Provides support for local inspections as defined by the local Regulatory Inspection Site Notification Plan, and for all audits under Medical Director's accountability (if applicable), including audit corrective and preventive action plans (CAPAs).


Pharmacovigilance

  • Complete in due time all Safety/Pharmacovigilance (PV) related trainings.
  • Report information regarding drugs' safety to the local Drug Safety Unit, in compliance with the YRR training materials.
