CVS Media Exchange is hiring a Lead Director of Media Planning.  This role will report to the Executive Director, Head of Operations.  

CVS Media Exchange [CMX] is dedicated to driving measurable outcomes for our suppliers, merchants, stores, GMs, brand advertisers, and agencies. Our full-funnel ad solutions leverage CVS’s in-store and online data, extensive reach, and to provide measurable results for our clientele. With a range of flexible pricing and buying models, including self-service; these solutions help businesses build brand awareness, engage with CVS consumers, and convert CVS consumers to shoppers. 

 
The Lead Director, Media Planning is a critical role responsible for devising and delivering a solution-oriented media strategy that drives performance for CMX brands and suppliers.  The ideal candidate will be able to balance needing to get into the weeds to solve day-to-day problems as well as be able to step back and adopt big picture strategic decision making. This individual will be a seasoned leader who knows how to navigate challenging situations and drive effectiveness and innovation to grow CMX revenue.  

Responsibilities include but not limited to: 

  • Lead the Media Buying team providing guidance, coaching & mentorship, acting as a point of contact for escalations.  
  • Develop and evangelize media planning processes, expectations, best practices, and innovation ensuring fully robust/ integrated media plans across platforms; aligned with overall client strategy (across paid, owned, earned media).   
  • Recruit, train, and develop a results-oriented team. 
  • Guide use of audience data to impact media strategy (channel/partner allocation) suited to client objectives & media delivery. 
  • Develop framework to monitor holistic media plan performance and performance trends, allowing for data to be actioned on. 
  • Act as a strategic partner to key internal stakeholders (Sales, Product, Client Solutions, Insights and Strategy, etc.) to create and implement solutions to solve supplier challenges. 
  • Support team members on key accounts to ensure ultimate success and client satisfaction, driving repeat business.  
  • Act as a key partner to L&D and Sales Enablement to ensure training materials map back to messaging and CMX value proposition.  
  • Review market research and analysis to stay up to date on the latest trends in media consumption, opportunities, and consumer insights to inform media plan. 
  • Review and audit current tech partnerships and process flow to drive efficiency throughout within CMX and with our Vendor partners. 

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years' experience in media planning/buying and full funnel measurement; advanced knowledge of digital media channels including display, social, and search. 
  • 6+ years hands-on experience and proficiency in ad ops, programmatic, ad management technologies, and BI tools (TTD, GAM, Ad Verification, OMS, Tableau, etc.) 
  • 4+ years of management experience 
  • 2+ years in retail media 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong ability to manage projects, timelines and lead a team of media planning professionals 
  • Expertise in omni-channel media, inclusive of search, display, DOOH and video 
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator; able to work with both technical and non-technical teams. 
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams across all levels including senior management. 
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen 
  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, and work under pressure to meet deadlines  
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills  
  • Demonstrated pro-active thinking with creative problem-solving skills in managing budgets and delivering campaign performance. 

Education  

Bachelor's degree, preferably with a concentration in business or marketing, or equivalent work experience (High School Diploma and at least 4 years of equivalent experience).

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,540.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
