We are seeking Mechanical Vibration Specialist for our First Quality Tissue facility located in Anderson, SC. Mechanical Vibration Specialist are responsible for all facets of vibration maintenance for machinery vibration analysis at the FQT-SE site. In addition to Vibration Analysis, responsibilities include applying specialized skills in maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and adjusting all equipment, machinery, and components. .

Primary responsibilities include:
- Collects vibration data of equipment on established vibration routes.
- Downloads equipment readings into vibration database.
- Analyze vibration readings and trend data.
- Diagnose/Predict equipment failures based on vibe data.
- Creates work orders for equipment repair.
- Generates monthly equipment status/health reports.
- Provides outage support as required.
Repairs all machinery, equipment and components as requested. Troubleshoots and analyzes mechanical and operational problems. Participates in root cause failure analysis to determine cause and prevent future failure. Operates hand and power tools as required. Knows how to use measuring tools, micrometers, vernier calipers, etc. Assists with preventative maintenance and changeovers when requested. Shares knowledge and techniques with team members and assists with training. Uses Ultra-Sound, Shock Pulse, Motion Amplification, and other Predictive Tools as required to diagnose equipment condition. Promotes precision maintenance techniques. Presents data and findings to Management as requested. Accurate and timely completion of Work Orders and other documentation. Follows all SOPs and demands the same of teammates. Performs any other duties as necessary when directed to do so. Stays compliant with required Individual Training Plan (ITP). Attends all training seminars provided by the company when applicable.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- High school diploma/GED or an equivalent education/experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of Industrial Maintenance Experience required.
- Knowledge of Converting/Paper Manufacturing Equipment preferred.
- Technical or vocational school training relating to mechanics preferred.
- Proficient with CMMS systems, preferably Hexagon.
- Skilled computer usage in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
- External candidate: 3 to 5 years in Industrial Maintenance and with demonstrated work experience with Vibration Analysis. Active Certification in Vibration Analysis Preferred. Level I/Level II Vibration Analyst Certification and or MLT I, or MLTII Lubrication certification. Level I certification in Ultrasound preferred.
- Internal candidate: Must have minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Maintenance-Tech or Control-Tech and will be required to achieve Certifications in Machinery Vibration Analysis and Ultra-Sound. Obtains Vibration Analysis Level 1 Certification, w/in 1 year after on the job training in vibration is complete and Level 2 Certification w/in 3 years. Ability to obtain Level I Certification in Ultra-Sound within 2 years. Must be willing to attend other training to further develop proficiency in Predictive and Preventative Maintenance (such as: Ultra-Sound, Equipment Balancing/Alignment, Motion Amplification).
- Excellent multiple trade skills.
- Advanced mechanical knowledge of all machinery, equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and adjust equipment.
- Standard knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Good analytical skills and ability to communicate analysis results (in writing and verbally) to equipment owners and management.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and willingness to assist other team members whenever needed.
- Must be a Self-starter, and once trained able to perform all job responsibilities with minimal direction.
