Dematic has an immediate need for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our Structural Steel Team. This position requires a very organized and self-accountable team member to effectively manage the header steel support solutions for hanging mechanical equipment from building structures. Strong time management, communication, and ability to work within a team skills are also required. This position will also be customer facing, involved with higher level project resource planning, and problem solving with site issues (either in person or through remote support), so experience leading project teams is preferred. Some project travel will be required (up to 20%) for project scope understanding, building verification, and/or problem resolution.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $100,500 - $147,400 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Tasks and Qualifications:
This Is What You Will Do in This Role:
- Lead header steel projects and assignments (with or without other header steel team resources) and be customer facing (internal and external customers).
- Problem solve and be the main point of contact for site header steel issue resolution.
- Design header steel support solutions for hanging mechanical equipment from the customer’s building and/or design grids and/or platforms that support mechanical equipment within Dematic’s cad system that meeting building codes.
- Prepare and deliver load analysis, accurate Bill of Materials, and installation drawings to the project execution team.
- Track and provide guidance/feedback on header steel schedule and deliverables.
- Will work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Coordinate and connect with project and installation team members for Header Steel specific topics. May require resource planning.
- Other responsibilities as required.
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering – Civil or Mechanical, with interest in Structural Steel Support Design or Material Strength Design. Higher education (Master's Degree) and/or PE Certification preferred.
- At least 10 years’ experience as a Civil or Mechanical Engineer.
- Customer facing, project-based engineering experience.
- 2D & 3D CAD and Microsoft Office. AutoCad, RISA, and/or CET/Maestro experience preferred. BIM360 also preferred.
- International Building Codes and OSHA Regulations knowledge.
- Structural Steel/Material Strength knowledge.
- Experience leading teams and/or resource planning preferred.
- Background in Material Handling/Automation industry preferred.
- Ability to read and understand building drawings to optimally identify pertinent and related details.
