Job Description

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, analyzes, troubleshoots and provides technical skills during product development
  • Conducts minor projects and plans method of approach
  • Reviews project progress and evaluates results
  • Recommends corrections in technical applications.  Specifies materials, equipment and supplies required for completion of technical projects
  • Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services
  • Uses professional concepts; applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
  • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors
  • Exercises judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Has internal and some external contacts.  Normally receives general instructions on routing work, detail instructions on new projects or assignments

Education and Experience:

  • BS of MS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering
  • 2-4 years in a mechanical design role

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • SolidWorks 3D CAD experience or equivalent
  • Familiarity with production methods
  • Basic finite element analysis
  • Ability to work independently

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Training Requirements:  

  • Knowledge Based Product Development
  • IFS Overview
  • Quality Systems

  • Must be fit for travel, including overseas
  • Must be fit for occasional hands-on work, including work in the field

Work Environment:

  • Working in office and laboratory environment
  • Field work as needed
