Leidos’ Defense Systems Rapid Integration and Prototyping Department is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in designing and being hands-on with cutting-edge sensor platforms and ancillary equipment supporting DoD customers and servicemembers.

Primary Responsibilities
-
Design and develop electromechanical assemblies and supporting parts, including: Electronics enclosures and packaging, mobile platforms, machined and sheet metal parts, 3D printed parts.

Create Technical Data Packages up to MIL-STD-31000 Level II requirements.

Contribute to program planning, risk mitigation, and requirements development.

Collaborate with a team of engineers, technicians, and program staff to deliver unique solutions, on time.

Document and present ideas accurately and concisely at design reviews.
Basic Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with eight (8) years of applicable experience or master’s degree with six (6) years of applicable experience.

Mechanical design experience
-
3D CAD and 2D drawing experience
-
Hands-on experience with electromechanical systems
-
Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
-
SolidWorks CAD and 2D drawing experience
-
Cradle-to-grave design of electromechanical systems
-
Radar or sensor system experience
-
EPDM and/or Windchill PLM experience
-
Static FEA and thermal analysis experience

Pay Range:Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
