Measurement Engineer
Overview:
This position is responsible for providing engineering expertise to support the FEATURES, VERIFICATION & VALIDATION (FVV) aspects of product development. The Measurement Engineer will handle the setup and troubleshooting of data acquisition (DAQ) systems, ensuring all internal customer testing needs are met. This role requires a strong background in DAQ systems, sensors, and related technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, configure, and optimize DAQ systems, instrumentation, and data storage workflows to meet internal customer requirements.
Collaborate on investment planning and the creation of strategic roadmaps for DAQ system development.
Lead the implementation and commissioning of new equipment in partnership with suppliers.
Oversee the planning, organization, and execution of measurement and testing projects.
Work closely with global teams to tailor and implement test procedures to meet specific local needs.
Provide training and guidance to engineers and technicians on the best practices for operating DAQ systems.
Revise and maintain test documentation, instructions, and protocols in line with company standards.
Continuously refine and automate test procedures for DAQ systems to improve efficiency and reporting.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required; a Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
Strong understanding of vehicle bus systems and protocols (CAN, Ethernet, LIN).
3-5 years of experience working with analog input systems, including measurements of voltage, pressure, frequency, acceleration, and temperature.
Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with metrology fundamentals.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Matlab, Python, C#, or C++ is an advantage.
Familiarity with tools like Dewesoft, Ipetronik, CANoe, CANalyzer, and Kvaser Memorator is beneficial.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer usage.
Strong communication, organizational, and team collaboration skills.
Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Salary Range: $75,000-80,000
