Job Responsibilities:
The Materials Superintendent will provide direction to the materials team (supervisors and employees) to ensure plant efficiency, quality, and safety goals are met per the objective of the organization. Responsible for the overall safe and efficient operation of the materials department under the guidance of upper management.
Job Functions:

  • Work closely with supervisors to provide guidance in dealing with routine personnel issues and disciplinary problems.
  • Hold supervisors accountable for enforcing rules, policies, and procedures; and make sure they are being consistently applied.
  • Thoroughly train new employees, correct and commend employee performance, and conduct adequate performance reviews.
  • Maintain an excellent relationship with customer's staff to ensure delivery and quality issues are addressed.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 3 years supervisor experience in a related manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Must have knowledge of a variety computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
  • Must have knowledge of JIT communication devices and MRP systems.
  • Working knowledge of ASRS user screens and code identification


Physical Requirements:
Must be able to interface with all departments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
