Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To oversee and drive all Planning/Scheduling related activities to assure customer expectations are met and business goals attained.

  • Responsible for managing the scheduling and release of daily work by value stream to support a demand driven philosophy.

  • Coach and Motivate employees and provide Leadership for improved team results and employee involvement.

  • Lead the seamless collaboration of tactical purchasing and demand management to resolve differences between supply chain capabilities and the operational plan.

  • Develop and implement daily tracking metrics that pinpoint key accountabilities and with support from other disciplines issue resolution.

  • Effectively work to transition operations from a traditional schedule push mentality to demand driven production.

  • Track and report forecast accuracy and related performance metrics on month and quarterly basis to management.

  • Coordinate with other departments as required for implementing systemic schedule improvement.

  • Assure the working environment is safe for the employees and enforce Safe work practices with the team.

  • Comply with, and enforce, all company policies as they apply to the area of responsibility.

  • Maintain excellent communication and working relationship with all departments within the company to ensure transparency of the Planning process.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS degree in related field required

  • CPIM certification preferred

  • Must have a minimum of 5 -7 years experience in Production Planning and Procurement

  • 3 years minimum supervisory experience

  • Background in Defense, Electronics or Fiber Optics a plus

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven Project management skills

  • Well Organized and Multitasked, Self starter

  • Proven Leadership skills/experience (ability to drive and motivate)

  • Computer Literate –proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, ERP systems

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills – written and verbal.

  • Previous experience in Engineer-to-order company a plus
