The Role
We are looking for a Product Owner to join the Central Technology Web Development team in support of Morningstar's Corporate Marketing. This position is based out of our Chicago office. The Product Owner is expected to play a pivotal role in executing the corporate marketing roadmap and coordinating with Marketing business stakeholders, technology development leaders, engineers, QA, and other roles. This role requires a blend of project management expertise, marketing, and technology experience to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality web solutions.
Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the development team and business stakeholders to help set short-term, medium-term, & strategic priorities for Morningstar's Corp Marketing Technology.
  • Work with key stakeholders to help define and write requirements and user stories for new product features.
  • Execute product roadmap collaborating within Agile principles managing the backlog and planning the iterations.
  • Lead scrum meetings and ceremonies, ensuring clear communication and efficient workflow.
  • Define clear product vision and identify growth opportunities.
  • Manage program documentation repository and assist with presentations on program updates.
  • Track and report key performance metrics.
  • Leverage AI across all aspects of central technology to support automation drive insights.
  • Partner with vendors and assist with regular vendor communications.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 4-5 years of product management experience.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and planning skills
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced global environment while delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to translate complex technical decisions, into simple and understandable business outcomes.
  • Has an extremely high-quality bar on documentation, especially when defining Problem Statements, and writing Product specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Having a go-getter attitude, being self-directed, detail-orientated & possessing good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to create structure from ambiguous situations.
  • Working Agile experience - Scrum methodology, JIRA, or equivalent story writing tool. Product backlog, sprint backlog, story estimation, and prioritization, creation of user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong people skills to support collaboration across functions and organizations.
  • Experience in marketing and/or web development is a plus.
  • Experience in content management systems like ContentStack is a plus.
  • Experience in financial services is a plus.
