The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a strategic, analytical, and creative Marketing Operations Specialist to join ApplyBoard’s Marketing Team. Reporting to our Marketing Operations Team Lead, you will be responsible for planning and executing a wide range of email marketing campaigns to support lead generation, customer engagement, and retention. This role requires deep understanding of customer segmentation, journey mapping and implementation of automation, dynamic and personalised communication through the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform. The role also requires an understanding of best practices, measurement and insights generation so as to continually improve the customer email experience.

What You'll Do Every Day:

  • Plan and execute all inbound and outbound email marketing campaigns and initiatives focused on driving lead generation, conversion, account management, customer retention, and brand awareness

  • Use SQL to build audience data for email testing and deployments and to perform ad-hoc analysis and debugging.

  • Write AMP script when needed for email personalization and advanced dynamic content.

  • Setup and manage segmentation, automation, personalization, A/B, and multivariate testing focused on continuous improvement, engagement, and optimization

  • Monitor campaign and email performance, providing accurate reporting to leadership on the effectiveness of campaigns

  • Manage ApplyBoard email contact lists and ensure database remains clean and accurate

  • Ensure compliance with CAN-SPAM, CASH, and GDPR

  • Oversee adherence to ApplyBoard’s email marketing and communications policy

  • Stay up-to-date on email marketing trends, and update peers on the Marketing Team on best practices and strategies

  • Other tasks as assigned

What you bring to the table:

  • Experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud for email marketing, contact and list management, forms, workflows, and automation

  • A college diploma or a university degree in marketing, digital marketing, business, or a related field

  • 1-3 years of experience executing email marketing campaigns at a technology company or within an agency setting

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS, and AMP scripting.

  • A strong understanding of email and digital marketing best practices including deliverability, A/B testing, automation, and compliance standards

  • A highly analytical approach to reporting and analyzing performance metrics with a focus on continuous improvement and optimization

  • Demonstrated time management and multi-tasking skills resulting in the ability to hit aggressive deadlines

  • The ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team

  • A can-do attitude with a willingness to jump in and help team members as needed to achieve desired results
