About the Role

Defense is seeking a Marketing Manager to drive our brand, content, and growth initiatives. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in the crypto security space, understands technical concepts, and can execute a multi-channel marketing strategy that enhances our visibility across Web3 ecosystems.

 

As Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive marketing strategy, ensuring our brand is recognized as the gold standard in crypto security auditing. You’ll manage content, social media, partnerships, and events—working cross-functionally to drive awareness, engagement, and business growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and Execute the Marketing Strategy
  • Develop and implement a data-driven marketing strategy aligned with Defense OKRs focusing on B2B demand generation and inbound lead acquisition.
    • Build and optimise the marketing funnel, from lead generation to conversion, ensuring a strong pipeline of potential customers.
    • Collaborate with BD to nurture and convert marketing qualified leads (MQLs) into Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs)
    • Drive brand awareness through digital campaigns, content, PR, and strategic partnerships.
    • Create and maintain a content and campaign calendar that supports both top-of-funnel awareness and bottom-of-funnel conversions.
  • Social Media & Content Strategy
    • Define and execute a social media strategy that grows engagement across X (Twitter) and LinkedIn.
    • Create, publish, and manage high-quality, technical yet engaging content.
    • Track and analyze content performance, iterating for continuous improvement.
  • Website & Brand Management
    • Oversee website content, updates, and design improvements to maintain consistency with brand messaging and standards.
    • Ensure SEO best practices and strong conversion paths for inbound leads.
    • Implement marketing automation tool (HubSpot) to track, nurture and convert leads effectively.
  • Co-Marketing & Partnership
    • Work with Defense customers and partners on joint announcements, publications, and campaigns.
    • Manage collaborative marketing efforts with projects and protocols in the crypto security space from inception to execution.
  • Market Research & Insights
    • Conduct market research to identify, lead conversion trends, buyer personas, and competitive positioning, ensuring alignment with Defense’s strategy to maintain competitiveness and relevance in the market.
    • Create and distribute regular reports summarizing key insights.
  • Event Representation
    • Represent Defense at key crypto and security industry events.
    • Coordinate speaking opportunities, panels, and partnerships at conferences.

What You Bring

  • Crypto Native Marketing Expertise: Demonstrable understanding and working knowledge of Web3, crypto security, and decentralized technologies.
  • Strong understanding of sales pipelines, Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs), Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs), conversion rates, and customer acquisition costs (CAC).
  • Experience working closely with sales and business development teams to drive revenue.
  • Proven Marketing & Growth Experience: Prior experience in sales and marketing, ideally within a security auditing team in Web3.
  • Strong Communication & Storytelling: Comfortable pitching, presenting, and crafting compelling narratives for external stakeholders.
  • Process-Oriented & Organized: Ability to manage multiple projects, optimize workflows, and maintain marketing processes with precision.
  • Agile & Collaborative: A team player who thrives in fast-paced environments, values culture and shared principles, and can work across teams effectively.
  • Adaptable & Proactive: Flexible, responsive, and motivated to solve problems, take initiative, and drive team goals forward.
  • Client Relationship Management: Experienced in building and maintaining client partnerships and managing co-marketing initiatives.
  • Experience Working Asynchronously: Comfortable collaborating across global, remote teams and managing asynchronous communication.
  • Technical Fluency: Ability to understand and translate security concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences is preferred.
  • Data Driven and Performance Orientated: Able to define KPIs, measure marketing ROI and optimise marketing spend to drive customer acquisition using tools available.

Location

  • All Thesis Defense roles are remote-first, with a preference for Europe & Americas (CET +/- 5) time zones to accommodate project needs and collaboration.
  • Occasional travel may be required for team meetings, security conferences, and industry events.
