IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is looking for a Marketing Manager, Marketplace Brands to develop and execute the marketing strategies for two of our products: TPT and Wyzant.
TPT (also known as Teachers Pay Teachers) is one of the most beloved brands in education. It’s the largest marketplace for educator-created learning resources, used by 85% of K-12 teachers in the US. As Marketing Manager, Marketplace Brands, you will be responsible for leading the integrated marketing strategies for both brands, with the goals of driving purchases and supporting the growth and engagement of our buyer and seller communities. You will manage a small team and lead them in developing creative and compelling content across multiple channels (website, email, blog, social media, and more). The ideal candidate has experience with marketplace businesses, and is strategic, proactive, collaborative, a strong communicator, and passionate about IXL’s mission to improve learning for all.
This is a full-time position in our San Mateo, CA headquarters office.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to support brand awareness, attract and retain buyers, and drive purchases on TPT and Wyzant
- Devise ways to expand the seller communities on both platforms; develop programs and materials to onboard, educate, and engage our seller community and help them succeed
- Lead marketing of new product/feature launches, including internal and external and external communications and messaging
- Oversee the email marketing and organic social media strategies for both brands
- Collaborate with and lead cross-functional projects across Marketing and other departments, including Digital Marketing, Product Development, Seller Community, and more
- Manage and mentor a team of 4 content and email marketers and ensure they deliver high-quality work
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- BA/BS degree
- 9+ years of marketing experience; must include experience with marketplace, sharing economy or other similar platforms
- Minimum of 2 years of managing, coaching, and motivating direct reports
- Proven track record of developing and executing marketing plans and campaigns that positively impact marketing and business goals
- Strategic thinking: You are able to consider an idea from all angles, ask smart questions, and make thoughtful decisions that align with company needs and values
- Written communication: You are an exceptional writer that knows how to clearly communicate a message and make every word count
- You get things done: You’re a self-starter, detail- and deadline-oriented, organized, resourceful, and have the ability to manage projects from start to finish
- Interpersonal skills: You’re a team player, have excellent verbal communication skills, and have the ability to lead cross-functionally
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The base salary range for this full-time position is $175,000 to $225,000 + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
