A Day in the LifeWe are seeking a strategic and execution-focused leader to transform our country-specific marketing teams into a unified DACH HCP Customer Marketing Team focusing on HCP engagement. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing and executing the HCP engagement strategy across the DACH region. This encompasses congresses and events, KOL management, HCP training and education, and HCP services.
Leading a team of five direct reports, you will collaborate closely with the EMEA HCP Customer Marketing Team, the DACH commercial teams and the cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of HCP engagement initiatives. This position requires a balance of transformational leadership, strategic vision, and hands-on execution to enhance our relationships with healthcare professionals and drive the adoption of our diabetes solutions.
This role will cover DACH and is a remote role. This means your home/remote location is the primary work location. There may however be requirements to attend a Medtronic location for meetings from time to time.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Lead the transformation from country-specific marketing teams to a centralized DACH Customer Marketing Team, fostering a unified approach while respecting local market nuances
- Develop and implement a regional structure that leverages synergies across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives
- Coach and mentor a team of five direct reports, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance. Set clear targets that drive business success
- Develop and execute a comprehensive HCP engagement strategy tailored to the DACH region, aligning with EMEA and global objectives
- Drive the adoption of our service portfolio that adds value to healthcare professionals and supports patient care
- Track and report on expenditures, ensuring alignment with financial plans and organizational priorities
- Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics, adjusting strategies and tactics as necessary to ensure objectives are met
- Represent the company at international congresses, events, and industry forums (~50% travel) to enhance brand visibility, gather market insights
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Life Sciences, Communications, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in HCP engagement, marketing, or business transformation within the med tech, pharmaceutical, or diabetes care industry
- Willingness to travel 50% of the time within the DACH region and internationally
- Fluent of written and spoken German and English. Proficiency in French and/or Italian is a plus
- Proven experience in leading organizational change or team transformation in a regional or multi-country setup
- Excellent leadership and team development skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a high-performing team
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing HCP engagement strategies, including event management, KOL relationships, and educational programs
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills
