A Day in the LifeWe are seeking a strategic and execution-focused leader to transform our country-specific marketing teams into a unified DACH PwD Customer Marketing Team focusing on patient engagement. This role is crucial in developing and executing a comprehensive PwD engagement strategy across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland to drive meaningful interactions with our patients.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing our patient support service (We Care App), social media, media and PR, influencer marketing, patient training and education, patient events, and partnerships with patient associations.
You will lead a team of five and collaborate closely with the EMEA PwD Customer Marketing team, the DACH commercial teams, and the cross-functional teams to drive patient-centric initiatives. This is a high-impact position requiring both transformational leadership and hands-on execution to build a strong, unified approach to patient engagement in the DACH region.
This role will cover DACH and is a remote role. This means your home/remote location is the primary work location. There may however be requirements to attend a Medtronic location for meetings from time to time.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Lead the transformation from country-specific marketing teams to a centralized DACH Customer Marketing Team, fostering a unified approach while respecting local market nuances
- Develop a comprehensive patient engagement strategy and execution plan tailored to the DACH region, including patient support services, social media and influencer marketing, digital engagement, patient education and events, focusing on driving NPS (net promoter score) and lead generation
- Drive the execution of the DACH PwD engagement plan across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland to meet the annual operating plan targets
- Work closely with the EMEA Customer Marketing Team to ensure alignment with broader organizational goals. Partner with the DACH commercial teams to integrate patient engagement initiatives with sales and marketing efforts
- Represent the company at patient-focused events, advocacy meetings, and industry forums to enhance brand visibility and gather insights. Build strong relationships with patient leaders, influencers, and advocacy groups to strengthen the company’s position in the diabetes community. Monitor market trends, patient needs, and competitive landscape to continuously refine strategies
- Manage the budget for patient engagement activities, ensuring effective allocation of resources. Track and report on expenditures, ensuring alignment with financial plans and organizational priorities
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Life Sciences, Communications, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in patient engagement, marketing, or customer experience within the med tech, pharmaceutical, or diabetes care industry
- Willingness to travel 50% of the time within the DACH region and internationally Fluent of written and spoken German and English. Proficiency in French and/or Italian is a plus
- Strong expertise in social media, media and PR, influencer marketing, patient education, and event management
- Excellent leadership and team development skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a high-performing team
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills to drive alignment across multiple markets
