Job Title: Manager of Market Insights for New Product Development

Job Scope:

The Portfolio Management and Strategy team is charged with providing critical evidence to support new business strategy and advising on opportunities to expand growth through rigorous analysis of market trends and future opportunities. We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Market Insights Manager with expertise in the life sciences industry to drive innovation and support new product development. In this role, you will be responsible for uncovering market opportunities, interpreting scientific and industry trends, and delivering actionable insights that guide the development and launch of cutting-edge solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Market Research and Analysis:
    • Conduct in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and landscape assessments specific to the life sciences industry.
    • Identify emerging trends, technologies, and unmet needs in the market to inform and refine new product strategies.
  2. Customer Insights:
    • Engage with key stakeholders, including scientists and researchers across biotech, pharma, academic and government institutions, to understand their challenges, workflows, and unmet needs.
    • Design and execute primary and secondary research, including but not limited to performing VOC, surveys, literature reviews, attending conferences and webinars, and customer visits and discussions with key opinion leaders.
  3. Strategic Insights for New Product Development:
    • Collaborate closely with R&D and product management teams to align market insights with innovation roadmaps.
    • Provide recommendations for product positioning, target market segmentation and value propositions.
  4. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Act as a strategic thought partner to cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing, business development, and sales.
    • Prepare clear, actionable reports and presentations that distill complex insights into recommendations to support decision-making.

Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Life Sciences, Biotechnolgy); advanced degree (MBA, PhD) strongly preferred.
  2. Minimum of 3 years in market research, competitive intelligence, or product development within the life sciences industry.
  3. Strong understanding of scientific workflows and technical trends in areas like ADD, gene therapy, cell therapy, vaccine, synthetic biology, or IVD.
  4. Expertise in market research tools and techniques specific to the life sciences sector (e.g., primary market research, KOL interviews, secondary data analysis).
  5. Proven track record of leveraging insights to guide product innovation and commercialization.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey key recommendations using MS Power Point, Excel, Word and other presentation tools.
