  • Evaluating the success of events next to business KPIs, goals and player satisfaction
  • Using data-driven insights to iterate on designs in a live-service model
  • Creating technical designs for managing and verifying events systems for a live service game
  • Review the content of cross-discipline partner teams and skillfully work with them to revise and ensure consistent rewarding experiences
  • Maintain Marathon IP quality, consistency, along with sandbox design principles while implementing economy content

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Previous experience as an Investment Designer for a large-scale live-service game
  • Deep understanding of what makes events impactful and how they contribute to the broader player experience
  • Understanding of live-service operations, event mechanics, and player segmentation
  • Experience designing, documenting, and building systems
  • Modeling and simulating economies to achieve design intent
  • Developing and using player analytics to measure success of events
  • Proficiency in technical scripting to create content directly in our editing tools
  • Intuitive understanding of what engages players and what brings them value and excitement in a complicated challenge space
  • Excitement for collaboration with designers, artists, narrative, programmers, audio professionals, quality assurance, marketing, and producers to achieve a common goal, no matter where they are
  • Ability to lead communication and “why” behind gameplay design decisions to align teams
  • Social intelligence, great interpersonal skills, and empathy for creative teams
  • Ability to handle ambiguity, including giving and handling feedback despite that ambiguity

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • Experience designing live-service events in an extraction genre
  • Experience hiring, training, and managing other Designers
