Responsibilities: Work as part of agile software development team, responsible for creating new platforms for structured investments and annuities, designing, building, and delivering best-in-class automation solutions to improve platform usability and enhance user experience. Design and build workflow automation solutions for product issuance, distribution, order management, and life cycle event processing of structured notes and other risk-managed products using a variety of open-source and proprietary technologies. Lead team of engineers, designers, and quantitative analysts to expand and grow the Annuity Platform, and lead backend annuities team to architect and implement API solutions using Scala, Java, Python, Mongo and PostgreSQL. Collaborate with insurance companies to build out technology solutions for Fixed, Variable, and Indexed Annuity product offerings, and review and prioritize the engineering book of work to deliver new features and stabilize and enhance the platform. Evaluate and recommend technology and architectural choices for features. Interact with clients to understand business requirements and present technology solutions, working with technology leaders and engineers to integrate solutions into workflows.
Salary: $256,000 to $261,000/year. This role will require the employee to work in office 4 days a week, Monday - Thursday, with the ability to work remotely on Friday.
Requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field and ten years of experience in software development. Experience must include ten years each of the following: backend development in the financial technology (FinTech) domain; Scala, Java, or Python. Experience must include five years each of the following: leading the development of and maintaining single and multi-tenant applications based on Python or Java technologies; working with relational and non-relational database management systems; developing financial applications pertinent to the Annuity Industry; building applications in the cloud using cloud technologies; working with external partners on solutions to leverage existing toolchains; and supporting external partners on production issues post integrations. Experience may be gained concurrently.
