Job Overview
We are looking for a Finance Manager to join our dynamic team in Japan. Reporting to the Associate Director of FP&A, this role is pivotal in overseeing and managing our financial operations, aligning them with our ambitious goals and innovative approach. You will play a critical role in shaping our financial strategies, contributing not just to our fiscal health, but also to our mission of revolutionizing healthcare with our groundbreaking antibody therapies.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a Finance Business Partner to R&D/GxP and/or several support functions.
- Manage/support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes with precision and promptness.
- Handle/support financial operations, including consolidation and reporting.
- Handle alliance-related reporting for R&D/GxP.
- Challenge business assumptions as necessary. Collaborate with various departments to optimize financial performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and legal requirements, coordinating with internal and external experts.
- Collaborate with the global finance team to align Japan’s financial strategies with global objectives, enhancing efficiency and consistency.
- Identify, Communicate, and drive actions for risks and opportunities in a timely and transparent manner.
- Lead/support various projects
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of accumulated experience in FP&A and/or accounting with increasing responsibilities.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas and influence others.
- Fluency in Japanese and English, both written and spoken. This position is expected to have discussions with stakeholders inside and outside Japan.
- Basic to intermediate technical accounting skills (knowledge of IFRS is a plus).
- Experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry is highly valued.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Experience in improving, developing, and implementing new finance and/or accounting processes is a plus.
- Strong analytical skill
- Ability to work successfully under pressure in a fast-paced environment and with tight timelines.
- A collaborative team player with the capacity to work with diverse internal and external stakeholders in supporting product development strategies.
- Self-starter, able to work stand-alone with minimal supervision.
